Oh what a shame Daisie :(

I have 1 month to go tomorrow :)

Paid last big thing off today £200 on balloons !!!!!!! Good job they look good lol

I have a massive scratch across my lip from my "lovely" cat Lucy and just in time for my hen do on Sat :( I am trying really hard to not injure myself within the next 4 weeks. It is proving very difficult as I am so accident prone. I'm also hoping the cat scratchs on my arms heal soon too

Today is my last day at work, just an hour and a half left!

I've had butterflies in my stomach all day, I cannot believe it's this week!

Daisy, could you get to a BHS or Debenhams to buy him the next size? Or get his mum to get it for you? Or maybe just get him a cute shirt to go wit something he already has.

Nope, no BHS with a wedding department anywhere near me and no Debenhams. Besides I think we'd still struggle as if we got something that was big enough to fit him round, then it would be way too long. Never mind :(

GOOD LUCK LAURA!!! Are you going on honeymoon straight away? You will have to let me know how it all goes on the day! Very exciting to have a venue buddy! :)

The toastmaster is coming round to our house this evening to finalise all the plans with us. Exciting!

Hi ladies, hope everyone is well :). Sorry I've not been able to catch up properly, I tend to have to do a memory dump each time.

Have been trying to come up with a solution to the paige boy outfit but apart from trying Ebay I am stumped, sorry! Hope all goes well with the toastmaster, my mums landlord is one and has done thousands of weddings over the years.

Faith - I did lol at your balloon comment! I really like balloons but I am a bit scared of them after one burst in my face and actually split my cornea down the middle, took a few days to heal! I would suggest not touching the car for the forseeable future ;)

laura - wow, no more work! Bet that feels weird...you will be a Mrs when you go back!

Jellytot - glad you had a great hen weekend and the make up looks really great too, it's nice when it goes to plan and you get a little window of what you might look like on the day :D

scared1 - love the tree idea and how lovely that your brother did it too, are you going to frame it and hang it somewhere? Sounds very personal and yayyyyy to dress fitting :j

Cats - CONGRATULATIONS! Glad to hear all went well despite the weather, any chance of some pics? :p

Butterfly that cart is superb, looks just like the ones the sweetie people use! Bonus on the free filming too!

Loved the pots and scoops Caz, I have some of those fabric butterflies too in various colours, not sure whether I will end up using them though. Can't work out where to put them :o

Skoobie - I can't see far back enough to reply directly but it looks and sounds like you had a fab hen night

I think we are getting there, it's my birthday and hen do 1 on Thursday so going quad biking, lunch, home spa treatments and then a Thai, my proper one is in local restaurant/club on saturday. Groom is now talking about changing his suit , I ended up organising his stag do which is also this Saturday and he doesn't know it yet but he's doing some archery followed by curry and beer, I've arranged for his work mates to go to the curry and that will be a nice surprise for him. Most suppliers are now paid and just a lot of bits and pieces to do/make etc, the other SiL now isn't coming, we got a text Friday and still waiting for an apology, had to get my table plan re-done but her space has been taken by a friend who is willing to drive over from France the day before....crazy huh!

My current issue is gifts - his family don't seem to care but my work are really on my case about whether we have a gift list (we don't), what we want (no idea) and now the 'board of directors' want to get us something , I have NO idea what to suggest. Obviously some may have seen my post about the videography, very disappointed I can't have him but I guess it's not the end of the world. Sent our choices pack back special delivery yesterday so cutting it a bit fine, we have personalised our vows but not shown each other them so I am a bit scared!

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

Thank You :) I have lots of butterflies left, and they will be used on the centre pieces! I have got vases for the tables, which will have purple gel cubes in, and 2 butterflies placed on the top, keeping in with the theme :)

On Sunday, we set up the wishing tree, so I could make sure the clip on butterflies I bought will clip onto the branches, and so I could line up the velcro, so I can attach the sign to the trunk! It looks great, and will look brilliant once some of the tags I've made up are hanging from it, with our family and friends messages on :)

I decided to put my shoes on to help break them in a bit as the dates getting close (1 month today!! or 4 weeks on friday which ever way you look at it :rotfl:lol) anyway...I got my shoes a year ago when I picked out my dress. After about an hour of them being on my big toes REALLY hurt! They are too small :( They are flat as I can't wear heels but can't believe Im now just over 4 weeks away and got to go shoe shopping!!

I have found shoes that I have fallen in love with though! Debenhams have some for £40 but none online in my size so hoping a trick to Lakeside shopping centre might mean I can them there, or It will be a similar pair by Dune in House of Fraser for £75
I know, I know not very MSE, but I can always sell them and the others on afterwards! Afterall If i can't splash out a bit for my one wedding day...when can I? I never spend out that much on something like shoes or even clothes for that matter (Never have done) but...they are just what I want! I will be attempting the cheapers ones first though of course :rotfl:

jtr - hope you have a great birthday and hen do :D As for the board of directors thing....is there any glassware or anything you need? Like a nice decanter or something? Vase? Vouchers? At least it's nice they want to get you something :)

caz - hope you get the shoes sorted. I have not worn mine for longer than a few mins so you have worried me now!

    Daisie,

Could you not get the bigger size and take up the length? Or use an eleastic band looped through the button hole on the trousers and fastern around the button. Often gives a bit more room.

Caz- glad you found out now that your shoes don't fit. At least you have some time to sort. One thought with shoes that are a tad to small wet newspaper overnight inside them can help them to give.

Jtr- could you not ask for vouchers for a place where you might shop if you're not sure of what you would like?

I'm really excited tonight...have sat and done our seating planner. Its pink and gingham and pretty and very camp and cheesey...just like me! Have also done the table names-we're having charectors from our fave show Buffy the Vampire Slayer...so also cheesey! And I bought just a plain white book for £2.99 and have decorated it with embellishments and its made a wonderful guest book! But by far the best thing today is that I have booked myself a spa day for next wednesday with the xmas money I got from family and some money I have stashed away from not having any takeaways while dieting!

Just a few bits left now...

Get frames for the photos of our parents wedding pics.
    Pre wedding photoshoot.
Burn CDs from playlists just to be on the safe side.
Make a list of packed lunch supplies to get and make for the people helping to set up the venue.
    Get step daughters fringe cut.
Dye my hair-can't wait to get rid of these roots!
    Pack everything!
Spring clean the house for the family coming to stay!
And make time to enjoy the next 2 weeks with finacee and step daughter-starting tomorrow with orange wednesday!

    YAY sooooooooooo excited....12 days!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks girls for the suggestions about the page boy outfit. Luckily his mum texted me yesterday saying she had got one off M&S that fits :D I have looked at it online and it is the wrong colour and no where near as nice as the other one - but that doesn't matter at all. He is a baby and will look gorgeous in anything, I am just glad he will still look like a page boy! (Page baby really...) Now I just have the battle of trying to return the two I have got. Tried to take them back to a shop yesterday and they wouldn't take them. I was so annoyed and had a big argument! Now I have to try and get to the post office to post them and hope they will take them back.

scared1 - remind me when your wedding date is? Is it the day after me? It's 10 days for me today! Your table planner sounds gorgeous :) we did ours at the weekend and it is quite simple and really does look home made (lol) but it will be fine.

I only have 7 lessons left to teach...(over today and tomorrow) :D. I do however have an absolutely enormous pile of marking to do :( I MUST get it done this week as I don't want to be doing it in the week leading up to the wedding and I especially don't want to end up taking it on honeymoon! OH is staying in London tonight as he has a late dinner meeting so I may well just spend my evening marking...

I have a hairdresser appointment today at the swanky expensive hairdresser that I don't usually go to anymore (I usually go to an old lady salon that charges £16 to cut my hair!). I am treating myself to a nice conditioning treatment and a little trim. Then next week I have a facial, a massage, waxing, manicure, pedicure :D very excited!

We had a meeting with the toastmaster last night. It was brilliant - he was so good, and it really helped us to just get an even better picture of the day in our minds. He also agreed to arrive at the venue early to help load people onto the coaches and just make sure that bit runs smoothly, which I am pleased about. Had a funny moment...after he left, I was so excited I turned right to OH and was literally leaping up and down squealing. Then the doorbell rang....the toastmaster had forgotten his coat, and had been there the whole time - able to see everything though the glass in our door! Oops! At least he knows I am excited :)

I have a few questions if any of you can advise me...

    1. Ushers - originally we were just having my brother as an usher. However he is only 18 and my mum has been worrying it would be a lot of responsibility for him. So we thought of asking my cousin from California who we are really close to (and who is coming all the way from California for the wedding!) to help out as a second usher. The only problem is he won't be in the same suit as the groom, best man and usher. He will be in his kilt. Do you think it would be ok to have him in a kilt but have him in a buttonhole to show he is part of the wedding party? He won't be the only one in the wedding party not in the same suit, as my dad will be in a kilt too (the same kilt as it is our family tartan). What do you think?

    2. Hosiery! - what are you planning to do? I have got some nice wedding stockings but I am not sure whether to wear them or not. I think my shoes are less likely to slip around in bare feet. And my dress is already huge so going to the toilet will be hard enough without having stockings to worry about too! But my mum thinks I can't possibly have bare legs. Hmm...

    3. Bags - what are you doing about 'stuff' on the day? The bridesmaids and I have pretty little clutch bags but they won't hold much. We will also need bags with things like hairspray, emergency make up, my second and third pairs of shoes(!), blister plasters, deodorant, spare tights, etc...but I can't get my head around the logistics of this and who will carry/look after those bags and where they will be left. Hmmm.

    4. Music! We need an 'upbeat' song to come into for the wedding breakfast. Not too much of a 'party' song though - that bit comes later and we are having '500 miles' by The Proclaimers for our evening 'coming in song' (because of the Scottish side!). We just can't think of anything for our wedding breakfast entrance. Argh!

Ok, I must stop this 'brain dump' now (great phrase jtr!) and go and get ready for work.

Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying the last few days/weeks!

Two weeks to go for me!! (and we fly to Las Vegas on your wedding day Daisie!!) And everything is finally booked for Vegas :j:beer::j

My hen do was fab, thanks jtr :) Hope yours amazing as well! Eek at your OH changing his suit, but at least he has one, my OH doesn't yet, for the wedding or the reception :rotfl:
Not sure what to suggest RE gifts... How about vouchers? Or travel money? Or is that a bit of a cop out? lol

    Everyone sounds very organised!

    I've got a few things left to do before we go, all for the reception when we get back;
    • Write names on place cards
    • Make up posies for centrepieces
    • Trip to IKEA for some candle holders (tonight :D)
    • Take OH to sort out his suit :p
    • Make the truffles this weekend
    • Print out the table numbers/signs
    • Make little gift bags for the kids to keep them occupied
    • Final meeting with the venue on the 5th (day before we fly lol)
This weekend is going to be a busy one!!

Daisie - Glad the page boy outfit is sorted out!
    1) I think you should go ahead and have your cousin as an usher.
    2) I'm going to have stockings I think, just plain natural ones as my legs are pasty white. I'm not going to be able to fit in a sun bed or fake tan! and my basque has
the attachments for them so I might as well use them!
    3) Hadn't though about bags, I don't tend to carry much though and we'll be near our hotel room for most of the day so will probably just make do with my nan's little bag.
    4) Hmmm no clue what to suggest for this, what music do you usually like?

Laura - good luck! Hope it all goes fabulously!

Cas - Hope you get the shoes sorted, it's never bad to have an excuse to go shoe shopping!
