    It's soo rude!

I can't believe your cousin didn't think to tell you! Good on you for calling her out on it.

The thing is my gift list is a shopping centre gift card designed for wedding's. It means that I can use it in several stores. You can phone up to put money on it or send in a cheque or postal order. So surely that is better than doing it so I can only go to one store especially one I don't use. I asked her if they really didn't want to put money on the card then to get me Debenhams vouchers. Her reply was "Oh we don't have Debenhams kind of money" !!!!!!??? If you are getting me vouchers then £20 is £20 regardless of where you buy it!!

I can see where you are coming from with the Bridesmaid thing it is very difficult position to be in. I would probably feel the same :(

Maybe they already have some M&S vouchers in the house that they are looking to re-gift...you get them for things like signing up to Sky...if they are short on cash then that would be a sensible thing to do.

I know it's frustrating but at least it is a gift! I'm sure you could find something in M&S even if you save it for fancy food at Christmas or a special occasion...or wine...I think that is what I would do as we don't really shop there much either. Or towels! Everyone needs towels!

I have a linen cupboard full of brand new towels lol that I brought in Blue Cross sale last summer :rotfl:

This is just one persn she has told it's 10 :( If it was 1 person I really wouldn't have mind but it is the whole of my Dad's side of the family. Apparently she did the same thing to my mum when she married my dad and they ended up with 12 towel sets.

I know it's really ungrateful but I see it as such a waste. There is no point buying food as me & OH are never together for Christmas or New Year. Plus where we live apart I don't see the point in having dinner for one person so hardly do food shopping if I do I live off salads that I buy off the market. Again with the wine OH doesn't drink and I never finish a full bottle by myself :(

Just feel like everyone wants to do their thing and doesn't seem to realise it's mine & OH's day not theirs!

MIL is kicking off again now it's over a birthday cake for her middle son who is 25 the day before we get married. All of sudden OH HAS to arrange a £30 birthday cake (at our expense). Also she wants the resturant we are having our pre wedding meal the night before the wedding done up in balloons and banners ect for his birthday. I wouldn't mind but the brother HATES being centre of attention so much so he refused point blank to be an usher (yet we still had to pay for his suit hire so she didn't have too ) I feel like she is trying to muscle in on all our plans when all she has done has borrowed money off us left right and centre for the last year and hasn't done ANYTHING for this wedding. She couldn't even be bothered to arrange her own poxy travel and hotel we had too! And we had to pay for it!!

Sorry that was a proper rant :(

I've been at work since 6 this morning and knowing it would be quiet I took a few things with me to be getting on with!

Firstly the scoops and tongs for the sweety buffet, I wanted to pretty them up a bit and here is the result:

I've had a load of pens over the months made up by my friend vistaprint lol these are for guests to sign the tags i have made up for the wishing tree!

Oh wow your pics are all gorgeous! :D loving the pen pot. I have about 4 pens for the guest book but haven't decided what to do with them yet at all - there aren't enough to put in a pot or anything I don't think. Hmmmm.

I am freaking out about the weather too (and have absolutely everything crossed that cats's day goes ok today :() and I gave in this morning and ordered some ivory umbrellas. I'm also getting really concerned about the bridesmaids - they are going to be freezing in sleeveless dresses and bare legs! Argh! Wondering whether to try and get them pashminas or something. Not sure. Not to mention how I will feel in my strapless dress...

You could use a Hartley jam jar! They have a much smaller neck and 4 pens wouldn't look silly! Give me a mo and ill show u how 4 in that size jar look as I started with that size and then had to change it lol

I'm worrie about the weather although our date isn't til the end of April! I feel the cold REALLY easily and my adult bridesmaid has a short (just below the knee) dress!!

Cats 2012 congratulations may today bring with it many years of happiness. I hope the skies cleared at some point and that your having a wonderful time!

Caz i really like the jars and pens well done you! So simple and effective- lovely little touches you are doing!

daisie where did you get umbrellas from- i too need to order some? Also if you are concerned about the bare shoulders your probably better getting something just incase- nothing worse than feeling cold/ shivering for photos.

faith sounds like a nightmare of a time for you- i hope people back off and you can enjoy your last few weeks!

sorry if I've missed anyone! I feel like a headless chicken atm and my school planning has gone to pot! Got parents evening Monday too! :(

So got my ring and OH had his stag do, no hen do for me though sadly. Ive been trying to sort little bits of pieces- so far my living room table is covered with rose petals (reduced waitrose 59p for 12 roses) so am drying them out for confetti!

Also had an offer of having our wedding filmed predominantly for free- we are happy to provide some sort of meal for him.:j so my OH is happy as he'd considered this.

Monitoring our gift list I can't believe how generous people are being- I just wish they'd take initiative and shop around and buy it else where and just ask for us to remove it but hey ho thats money saving me:rotfl:

Also talking of generous people look at this wonderful cart my fil 2b made (sorry about the darkness):
