Our wedding day is Monday 8th April...! Today have been out and had a nice relaxed day with fiancee and then home and printed loads of things off for the best woman to have copies of the planner, readings, vows etc and laminated everything! Have made lists of jobs for the ushers/greeters, maid of honour and best woman so everybody knows what they are doing and who has what!

Ok...Daisie...Our Ushers are wearing whatever they choose to come in and we have bought them pink ties (much to their disgust) so everybody knows who they are! They will also have button holes. I am not one for tradition and we just can't afford all the suit hire for everybody to have suits since we'd need 7 of them for the main men too all look the same. So I think have your cousin...I think he will look great in his kilt!
Hoisery- I have bridal stockings, flesh stockings and tights so I can decide on the day!
As for music...we are having bruno mars - Just the way you are...for our first dance as its a bit more lively than the faith hill -breathe- song we did pick. We are walking back down the aisle to Happy Days by Fonzi...since my fiancees surname is Day...it will have a special but funny edge to it. I like everything to be light hearted...I wanted suddenly-angry anderson but OH put her foot down about that...or you could have something like celebration or congratulations and celebrations...

Skoobie- I love your brooch bouquet so pretty and clever it must have taken you ages to find all your parts. Hope you get sorted with your last few bits and pieces especially your OH suit!

    Argh!!!!!!!!! :'(

Had a fairly good day to begin with, went to lakeside with my bridesmaid on the hunt for the shoes! Started at debenhams as they were the cheaper bet! They had a size 7 and a size 9 but not an 8! The 7 fits but I think it may be a lil small.... Checked online only upto a size 5 was available, the lady in there phoned to check stock at 6 other stores but not one had a size 8! So we left there and headed for house of Fraser for the next best thing and prepared to part with £75 for what looks like the same shoe!

We get there can't see them anywhere! So asked a member of staff who informed me they have only ever stocked the black and nude version and not the ivory! Grrrr!

We went and got some lunch and I suddenly thought about another store so I went on my phone to check the item code to ring the other store and they must have had a delivery! They now had size 6 and 8 available! So I decided to order the 8 online and buy the 7 in store then I can compare them at home and take the wrong size back! Even better I found a 10% code that worked online and in store so made them £36!

Got a new outfit for my hen night Saturday week! All in all felt like a good day!

Then tonight, me h2b and my mum went to our venue for a meeting, whilst we were sat there I received a text from my friend in Bradford who was doing my hair and nails to tell me she can't come to the wedding now! So 30 days away and have no idea what I'm going to do! She was bringing a specific colour down which I love and she was doing it all as a gift and was arranged since April last year!!! God knows how I'm going to find a reasonable hair dresser now at this short notice! I don't even know how I'm having my hair yet as we were going to work it all out the week edited the wedding when she was here!!

I broke down in tears there and then, I don't think I can take any more let downs! First the venue cancelled us, then there was the uncertainty with my dress and the shop involved(not sure if I said about this before) and now no hairdresser!!!

I stop crying start feeling like it will sort itself out in the end and then I break down again :(

And thank you Emily for asking on Facebook I haven't commented back as she is on my facebook and can't be bothered! I just posted it in my first moments of finding out through frustration!

Oh no caz that's bad news! What's her excuse?! that's terrible to let you down like that! :(

Where roughly in the country are you? Maybe we can help you find someone?

ETA - just saw your location on your Facebook. You're not that far from me. Do you want the details of my make-up lady to find out if she is free? She is absolutely LOVELY and she does hair as well. Maybe worth a try?

She does hair dressing competitions, loads of effort goes into what she produces normally upto a year before the actually competition! Well yesterday apparently she found out she had won part of a competition and so now has to do it all on stage for everyone and it just happens to be on our wedding day!

She didnt even have the decency to ring me and talk to me she just text me!! :(

Does your lady have a website? Tbh it all comes down to costs etc as we hasn't budgeted for this at all! At this rate ill be just doing it all myself!

  • Wow, everyone's plans seem amazing! I have 23 days to go and feel nowhere near as ready as you. But, I guess most of you are before me.

Love your pics, Skoobie! So jealous - my theming went to pot as I've had no interest in the wedding for ages. I have no idea if I'm repeating myself, but I've swapped my artificial bouquet for a real one at the last minute - I'm now having mini calla lilles and bud roses, hand tied with some iridescent pearl bits. I won't see what it'll be like until the day, so fingers crossed!

Glad you got the Page Boy thing sorted, Daisie. Your cousin will look great in the kilt - it's not 'exactly' matching, but 'of a theme' given what your Dad is wearing. Perfect, I say. I didn't want my men to match as I wanted them to have their own style, but MIL insisted. Ah well, not so important.

Caz, I feel for you. I hope you get something sorted soon. Really unfair of your friend to cancel at such short notice. My hair is going to be a state - snow cancelled my only chance to try at the college, and I ended up housebound at my mum's all weekend for the last time I'm up north before the wedding. My hair is in really bad condition as I've been growing it, plus grey bits are showing. I think my old schoolfriend who I've not seen for 5 or 6 years has volunteered her friend who I went to primary school with to do it, but I haven't seen either in ages so I've no idea what's happening!

Jtr - sorry to hear about your videographer. It's made me think that I want one now - but I can't because church charges for it and I haven't agreed it with them. Plus, I'm disabled and don't like looking at myself walking like a freak on film. (I'm 'normal' in my head!)

Sorry to everyone I haven't mentioned!

On my side - 2 major developments. Firstly - OH and I have had a heart to heart and I am feeling a lot less like I had been, and I am starting to be hopeful that I may actually be able to mean my vows now and not be pretending. I was seriously worried that by the time the day came around, we'd not have healed any more and I'd still not even like being around him *phew*

Secondly - I've had an offer accepted on our first house! Wooo!!!

Just popped over to my hairdressers!

Luckily my usual hair dresser is available to come out of the salon that day to my hair! I am having a trial on Saturday to work out what how I'm having it and also the length of time it will take! They charging me £25 for the trial and I will find out Saturday how much for the day as will need to factor in her time away from the salon etc

Feel a bit better now knowing someone is doing it, and that's it's someone I know not just some stranger!

I will try to make sure I get some pictures to show you all, now I just need to find some pics to take in to give her an idea of what I want lol

caz - really pleased for you that you have got your hair sorted out :) good luck with the trial!

lil miss - glad you are feeling a bit better about OH. Hopefully you will be feeling even more secure in things by the time your day rolls around.

Well....I have taught my last lesson as Miss (Maiden name)!!! Very exciting... I told my classes today that I would have a different name after Easter as I am getting married and I got loads of shrieks, cheers, claps, congratulations and questions (I teach in an all girls' school!). It felt really nice.

However, I CANNOT let myself relax yet. I have fourteen GCSE essays left to mark and I MUST do it today - I want to be able to put all the school stuff away tonight and then not think about it until I am back from honeymoon! I usually spend a lot of the holidays working but I have worked like an absolute fiend to make sure I don't have to do that this time. Just have these last fourteen to mark and then I can forget about work in good conscience!

My wedding gift for OH has arrived today, I have got him an engraved Waterford crystal decanter and two whiskey glasses. I wasn't going to get him anything so extravagant but then I may have accidentally seen a Tiffany box in his wardrobe...and I may have accidentally snooped....and while I did NOT open the box I may have accidentally seen the receipt (which luckily was just a credit card slip and did not say what the item actually was so I am still in the dark) and it's an eye-watering amount...meaning I needed to rethink my wedding gifts to him! Just hoping this is actually a present for me now - well if it's for some other girl I don't think our marriage will be lasting all that long at all! :rotfl:

I am just so excited I am bouncing around. I am also very slightly sad in a weird way - that soon it will all be over. I have been planning and getting excited for what seems like so long and then it will all be done so quickly. I know it's about the marriage and not the wedding day and I AM very excited about the marriage of course! But still...... Does anyone else feel the same way?

Hope everyone's planning is going well. I'll say again good luck Laura! if she checks on here again before her day...

I must must must stop procrastinating and go mark some essays! come on I can do it!!!! :A

    Hi all

I'll do a loner post later picking up on all your news but right now I really need help before I lose my mind.

I am REALLY struggling to think of what to get BM's and MIL2B and my mum for their wedding presents. I don't want to get the BM's jewellery as I have already got them a necklace and earrings for the day and I'm now at my wits end

    Any ideas please :)
