scared1, hope you manage to get the dresses ok - that sounds like such a pain!
How's everyone doing?
I am ok. Can't believe it is getting so close and starting to worry about the weatherI just can't get my head around the fact that it is nearly here. It's mental!
One thing I am slightly worrying about is doing the Order of Service. We have a booklet of readings to choose from, a list of bidding prayers to choose from, and a hymn book - but OH keeps putting it off. I am going to do my best to pin him down and get him to do it tonight. Annoying thing is he doesn't want me to just choose them by myself - but he never wants to sit down and pick together either!
The time between now and the wedding is filling up hugely. I have a table on the fridge, with a box every day of the last four weeks until the wedding, with all the things that are going on each day written in it. It is the only way I can seem to keep organised and get things straight in my head! I am just trying to stay calm. I got quite a few of my to-do list things done today - just emails and checking things and chasing things up, etc.
Just wondering what is everyone doing about gifts for mothers? (if anything) We hadn't really thought about it and right from the beginning my mum kept saying not to do it as it is silly - also she will be taking home a lot of the table flower arrangements too so probably wouldn't need even more flowers! - but now it's getting closer I'm starting to wonder if we should. As if I need more things on the list!!0 -
daisiegg - don't panic. I now have 12 days to go and have ended up surprisingly on top of everything, I just took some stuff off my list that I realised wasn't important.
I think I'm going to get flowers or a nice bottle of wine for Mums, want something to hand over to them but agree flowers seem an odd one when there will be some going spare. But mine definitely won't want chocolates either. Any other ideas??
One tip though - do choose hymns etc ASAP as our church wanted to know plenty in advance so you could check copyright on hymn lyrics and make sure the organist knew the versions you wanted.Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 20170 -
Did our order of service now - all sorted! Just need to wait for the church to say it is ok (I don't envision any problems as we have followed the template they gave us) and then I can get them printed.
Off for our second menu tasting tonight to finalise what they are able to provide for me with my allergies. Very excited
23 sleeps today for me! I am absolutely petrified. I feel sick whenever I think about it. Not the getting married part but the actual day. I so want it to go well. I am very worried about the weather now. Eeeeeeeek. Can't believe it is so close, I am totally freaked out!
Come on ladies, this thread needs to get more chatty now it is so closeI remember stalking a thread last year - I think it may have been July 2012 but not sure - and I was very excited for the time when our thread would get as busy as theirs, lol.
So how is everyone doing? Hope not too stressed and not too many disasters.0 -
I feel like going on strike, am stuck in the middle of warring parents and right now just can't wait for it all to be over
Sorry to be on a downer but I've had enough!
Everything is coming together slowly though, have ticked a few things off the list. I'll do a better recap when I'm feeling a bit more cheerfulCross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
Mil and Fil to be told us last night that they will be leaving the wedding between half 9 and 10!! H2b rung his mum to tell her he wants them to stay til the end and be there for his one and only big day and his dad said half 10 and won't budge!!!
Am i wrong to feel a bit angry and upset that his parents won't stay in the evening? H2b was quite upset by it last night to the point he told his mum if his dad wants to leave early then he can walk he don't care etc it was quite heated!
I thought his parents would at least stay til near the end! I also suggested maybe 11-half 11 so not right til the end but late enough for h2b to feel his parents wanted to be there for his big day and night
Someone help me be rationale! His mum has asked is to go over t the weekend and asked ME to speak to his dad but i know Ill end up getting worked up about it:jEngaged 25/12/11 :j
:smileyheaMarried the man of her dreams and became Mrs M on 26th April 2013 :smileyhea0 -
15 days...seriously no idea how that happened! My to do list is quite big and work is crazy & now the weather is misbehaving! I can't wait to be lying on a beach with my husband!
We picked up our wedding rings last night. I didn't want to take mine off!0 -

Ok, in the spirit of helping you to be rational - I don't think 10.30 is actually that bad, especially for an 'older person'. I would imagine my grandparents will be gone well before that time - not sure how old your OH's parents are but my grandparents are virtually the same age as OH's mum (OH isn't a whole generation older than me btw but my parents were very young parents and his mum was a mum later in life!).
OH's sister has already said she isn't coming to the evening reception at all - she is going upstairs after the first dance to put her baby to bed! I could be offended about this but I am just going to let it go.
I think it might be best to try and forget it. If they hadn't told you in advance, and on the day had decided to leave at 10.30 because one of them had a headache or something - in all honesty when you are celebrating with each other and all your friends, in the elation of the day, you will probably barely notice. I do think by announcing it in advance they have made an unnecessary hoo-ha about it
Families! Argh!0 -

I'm with daisiegg at least they are going to be there for most of it. Better to be there and enjoy it then staying out later than they would like and being miserable.
I paid the caterers off last night (at last). I have just the videographers and balloons left to pay which I will from my bonus I get on Weds.
It's my birthday next Weds so I am having my penultimate dress fitting I can't wait.
I have 45 days left nowFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
I'm working my last 2 weeks at work and its been too busy too even think much about the wedding right now. Off to pick up the bridesmaid dresses saturday and and get them to try them on...excited and nervous! My dress fitting is Monday!
Everything bar the DJ is paid. Everything arranged. Its so nice to have this time to sit back now and enjoy!
My grandad has been diagnosed with cancer and it looks like his treatment is going to be starting the wedding week which will make things tougher since we're getting married 200 miles away. He wasn't coming anyway as its too far and he's not up to the travel. Just hoping and praying he is ok and in a good place by then. Since most of the fam are going to to be at the wedding. Hoping my brother in law can arrange the ceremony on a webcam so he and nan can watch and still be part of our special day.0
