caz - can't believe your OH's sister! Sounds like there are some underlying issues there, is she jealous or something?! I know it's easier said than done, but try not to let it get to you if you can...0

PS, in case anyone was wondering after I posted a very dramatic message yesterday and then just started being normal again....we are ok. OH did something silly but not deal-breaking and we talked it out last night and we're ok now. Still a tad bruised but nothing that time won't heal.
ETA and I am nominating skoobs as our resident agony aunt, she did a great job of listening to my mental ramblings0 -

Hi guys, can I join in please?
I WAS over on the August 2013 thread and we were going to have a big wedding in August, but due to several guests telling us that they didn't know if they could make the date, and lots of other stresses that I won't go into here, we have decided to "run away" to Gretna in April (12th) and get married without telling anyone (apart from the 7 other people that will be there)! We will have a big party in August so will get to show off in my dress/ OH kilt too...
This was only decided at the start of the month and so now we have LOTS of planning to do before April!
So glad that we have changed our plans though as it was making me feel so down and planning our wedding should be a happy time, right?:)Getting married to Mr M [STRIKE]August[/STRIKE] April 2013!:TWedding diet - 16lbs:jRachel x0 -
Oooh Daisy, let us know how it goes! Especially me, so I know what to expect!
Thanks for the hen night reassurance! I have three lovely bridesmaids who are all very good friends and a couple of others but not a big group of girls. I really just want a low key night out but I just feel a bit like I'm missing out a bit. Just keep reminding myself it's quality not quantity which matters! Maybe I'll sneak a few of you in as 'friends from work'
As for underwear I was told by my dress shop I don't need a bra so might just get something pretty for the eveningThink I can wear any knickers as I don't have to worry about VPL or sucking in my stomach (not because I don't have a tummy, but because of the dress style!)

Hello IloveaScotsman your my date twin lol
Planning definately should be a happy time indeed and theres plenty of time I've got loads to do I may have to add my list so I get a kick up the behind lol Have a nice intimate special day and make the most of having a big party with out the add-age pricing of a large wedding reception.
daisie-egg glad to hear you are feeling more content over the issue, please give yourself time too though, don't want to become bitter in marriage and it have a hold on what can be even stronger a relationship.
sk00bie will we be getting pictures too? Fingers crossed they've shaped well!
Roll on PPA afternoon Friday I have half written planning for the term just need to put it into school format. I shall then be on top and can get all resources printed and can focus on wedding more.
On wedding note heard back from several photographers most sound okay so not sure what to look up other than having the rights- do you think its good if they do engagement/before the day shoots? Meeting one on Friday so any guidance is great. Thursday and hopefully Saturday I'm looking at cars.A big thank you to all those who post on the forum and make it a worthwhile place!!!:j0 -
Daisie - You're very welcome honey
caz - no apologies necessary, we've all been there!
Laura - I'll happily volunteer to be your friend from work if required
Well just finished the truffles and I'm pretty chuffed how they turned out. They were quite hard to shape though, I think cause they'd been in the fridge overnight and I only took them out when I got home at 8pm. Also be prepared to get very messy if you use your hands, I've got chocolate everywhere :roftl: I'm taking some to work tomorrow so I'll snap a picture them for you butterflyI'm so jealous of you going to look at cars, I'd love to splash out on a fancy Rolls or something, make sure you let us know what you decide.
So next time I'm going to make the truffles on a weekend, then I can shape them after they've only been chilling for a few hours. They taste delish though, so I think the plan to make them for favours is a go. Now I need to trail a few different flavours and work out which to do.
Just been on the Vistaprint website and I see they only do 10 free postcards now when they used to do 100That means we might not be able to get the all the direction cards reprinted (with the address on... Doh!). Fingers crossed I get a new email with 100 free in a couple of days! I might get away with not re-doing them but I'd prefer it if they were.
On the plus side I trimmed most of the invitations ready to mount and mum helped by mounting the monograms. Fingers crossed we will send out next week!
Random question, for those who've included RSVP cards, did you include postage for these as well? Our RSVPs are (more!) postcards with the address already printed on the back, just wondering if I should put a stamp on too?
PS Hi IloveaScotsman, welcome to the thread

Am trying not to eat them all at once, they are definitely worth all the messCross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
skoobs - they look gorgeous! How are you going to present them? little boxes or something?
I am soooooo reconsidering my biscuits plan. I was going to do personalised biscuits to double as favours and place names or whatever you call them, but now the thought of making and icing 80+ cookies is scaring the living daylights out of me! but it's too late to do anything else and I DON'T want to pay out hundreds of pounds to buy favours. Would people notice if there are no favours? My mum reckons they won't....
I also have to make the top tier of my cake - a lovely lady is doing the cake but I have lots of allergies and I really want to be able to taste my wedding cake so I am going to make the top tier (little 4 inch one) in one of her tins and then give it to her and she is going to ice it with the rest of the cakeAgain that is something I almost feel like I can't be bothered with now!
Just about to go off for a planning meeting at our venue - exciting!0
