  • Hello ladies,
Can i join in with you all.
I'm getting married on the Friday 5th April, we only got engaged in October and we are doing our wedding on a 3k budget,
We have booked the local registry office and local hall/social club for after, We are having a 3pm ceremony to keep costs down.
We have 45 guests for the ceremony and 60 for the meal (not really doing a traditional wedding breakfast), then some more people after that to make it about 100 people.
I have my cake sorted, know my colour theme (cadburys purple) but that is about it! Waiting back on some quotes for DJ'd and food, going to a wedding fair next week, a wedding shop (table decorations etc) this week.
Really need help, advice, inspiration and motivation!
    Thank you

    Hey girls

    Hope your all ok?

Found out I owe less on our suits & flowers than I thought so all happy.

Had a stroke of pure luck last night my mum has fallen in love with a dress she wants for the wedding. Was in Debenhams last night looking for boleros (Thanks Sk00b) and I just happened to catch it out of the corner of my eye on the sale rail. Went over they didn't have it in her size. Went home looked everywhere online couldn't find it. Told my mum last night got a call this morning she managed to track one down and got the jacket she really liked but originally couldn't afford for less than the price of the original dress she is over the moon.

Just waiting to send last 6 invites out just waiting for the MIL2B letter to be received. I asked her Sunday (see previous post) she know I needed it quick so rather than texting them to me or emailing them she has sent them 2nd class. Swear she does it to annoy me :(

Ok there is a little but of a situation arising and I don't know how to play it.
One of my friends broke up with her long term partner about 9-10 months ago. She has started seeing this new guy (I haven't met him yet) anyway they are turning out to be the original drama couple. He has been invited to the wedding (I felt I had too I know I know lol). Anyway they got their invite Tuesday and are now on a break AGAIN. They normally get back together again but I'm now worried that they will break up again before the wedding if they do get back together. We have to pay £55 per person for food and I really don't want to waste this because they keep !!!!ing about. I wouldn't mind so much if they didnt have a habit of doing this or if i actually knew him properly. What do I do?

Hi Faith, great news about the suits & flowers and your mum's outfit :j

Grrrr to your MIL, if only you could just give her a slap!

And as to your plus one worries, how close are you to this friend? Would you be able to have a word and let them know what you're thinking?

If they would understand your worries and they know others you have invited, then by all means rescind the invitation to a plus one.

However personally I would probably take the hit and if they were broken up at the time of the wedding suggest that your friend bring another plus one so the food isn't wasted :rotfl:

PS have replied to your PM :)

  • Sk00bie1, let me know if you have found any bargain places for purple items lol
I feel really behind, only just sorting the invites, though most people know the date already and its mainly close family and friends invited

Anyone else doing this on a tight budget and any tips?

sorry to butt in but i was lurking :o

Have you thought about foam flowers punkygirluk. They're relatively cheap but look realistic.

I bought my bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 3 flower girl wands and 8 buttonholes for under £110 off a seller on ebay. I can pm her name if you would like to have a look at what she offerrs.

this is a link to a post with pictures of what I got in:
