Random question, for those who've included RSVP cards, did you include postage for these as well? Our RSVPs are (more!) postcards with the address already printed on the back, just wondering if I should put a stamp on too?

I didn't - I made a wedding website (for free at www.gettingmarried.co.uk) and put a little business card (free from Vistaprint!) in with the invitations explaining how to log onto the site and RSVP. So far almost everyone has done it that way - I have received four wedding invitation acceptance cards, and the rest have RSVPed online. So easy! :D

But in answer to your actual question, no, I wouldn't include postage (so expensive!) but I probably would also put on mobile numbers and email addresses so people have an option to RSVP for free as well as sending back the card.

Just a quick post from me as you have all chatted so much, I can't keep up!

Love the look of those truffles Scoobie! *nom*

Daisiegg, I am so glad you are feeling much happier and calmer about things, am sure it will all work out.

    Welcome along Iloveascotsman :D

Butterfly - our 'tog didn't offer any freebies etc, I wouldn't pick based on that. Just check through lots of examples of their work, the composure of shots and make sure there are no missing body parts lol. Make sure you are comfortable being around them, especially if having getting ready shots! One guy made my skin crawl and I knew I wouldn't want him near me!

Faith - i really feel for you, that's an insane amoutn of hours but I am glad to hear that the funds are looking better, I think you and your H2B need a fantastic relaxing honeymoon as soon as possible!

Not much here to report for me, have had RSVPs for both invites that went out friday and the rest are being handed out today for day guests, evening ones will go out next month. I can't go back far enough to see if I wrote about my evening ones and changing the design but I have some new embellishments so that will keep me busy this weekend! OH and I agreed to go ring shopping Saturday and I am excited about that. Had my first appintment for teeth whitening today and had all my impressions taken so going back next week for the first lesson/session thing.

I've given up on hen night, none of my 'friends' can't be bothered but then I don't really have any friends anyway. My best friend and I are having a hen do on my birthday and he is arranging it all and I know nothing. I think we will still do the takeaway/night out as planned for that weekend but I don't think anyone will bother.

    13 weeks today

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

I am actually having it done through my dentist as he does cosmetic aspects as well as the usual maintenance work. I went for the first time in 15 years back in October as he was recommended to me and fortunately, apart from seeing the hygienest a few times, I didn't need any major work.

Mine takes a few weeks, it's a mould you wear at night to brighten them up. I keep seeing these laser ones or mobile ones advertised, and cheap, but I worry about whether they really know what they are doing and their qualifications so decided to pay the extra and do it through the surgery, that way, I have some sort of recourse if it doesn't work or goes wrong etc.

Have been umming and arring over whether to have veneers on my front teeth as they turn away from each other at the bottom so he is also going to make a pretend set for me to try and see if I like them. Really cannot fault the service there at all. I would just search for cosmetic dentistry in your area and see what comes up, it wouldn't hurt to find out. I will let you know how it seems to be going when I start!

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

skoobs - they look gorgeous! How are you going to present them? little boxes or something?

I am soooooo reconsidering my biscuits plan. I was going to do personalised biscuits to double as favours and place names or whatever you call them, but now the thought of making and icing 80+ cookies is scaring the living daylights out of me! but it's too late to do anything else and I DON'T want to pay out hundreds of pounds to buy favours. Would people notice if there are no favours? My mum reckons they won't....

I also have to make the top tier of my cake - a lovely lady is doing the cake but I have lots of allergies and I really want to be able to taste my wedding cake so I am going to make the top tier (little 4 inch one) in one of her tins and then give it to her and she is going to ice it with the rest of the cake :) Again that is something I almost feel like I can't be bothered with now!

Just about to go off for a planning meeting at our venue - exciting!

Am planning to put them in boxes and decorate with ribbon and a personalised poker chip. Got some sample boxes coming in my order from Light in the Box, if they don't work out I've seen some others I really like but the website looks a bit dodgy, hmmm...

What's put you off the cookies? Is it the numbers? I'm assuming 80+ means that's how many guests?
If you made them all in advance you could freeze them so you'd only have to worry about decorating them in the few days before. If I wasn't having to worry about my wedding I'd come and help lol, I love stuff like this!

If you didn't make them what would you like to have instead, something else edible? or a little gift? How much would you want to spend?
I'm sure we can help you find something really nice but MSE as well!

We actually should! I am in Hertfordshire and I am 30 mins from Liverpool Street Station. Also 15 mins from a tube station on the Victoria line. So London is nice and easy for me! Jtr could totally come, Kent is not very far away! :j and Laura can't be far as she is getting married at the same venue as me.....Faith is in Essex although she works five million hours a week....:( this sounds do-able though! :D

You must excuse me, I am still on an insane high after our planning meeting at the venue - SOOOOO exciting! :D I would tell you all about it but I have a splitting headache so going to put iPad down for a bit. As soon as I am physically able I will be here with a big rambling update! :T

ETA just noticed butterfly is in Oxford....which is a do-able train journey to London too....we could rope her in! Mwahahahhah...

Hi guys, can I join in please?

I WAS over on the August 2013 thread and we were going to have a big wedding in August, but due to several guests telling us that they didn't know if they could make the date, and lots of other stresses that I won't go into here, we have decided to "run away" to Gretna in April (12th) and get married without telling anyone (apart from the 7 other people that will be there)! We will have a big party in August so will get to show off in my dress/ OH kilt too...

This was only decided at the start of the month and so now we have LOTS of planning to do before April!

So glad that we have changed our plans though as it was making me feel so down and planning our wedding should be a happy time, right?:)

    WELCOME!!!

April is the best thread - you are in good company :D

daisieegg don't worry about favours for now focus on main things like cake. If theres time get the dough in freeze in small batches and decide at a later date, then if you do it its there if not you have it for when you fancy doing biscuits.

Skoobies Wow they look absolutely perfect and will sit so beautifully in a box with the ribbon and personalisation, fingers crossed the boxes are what you want. How's the website my OH made ours though he sent me into a panic when he said the email response for RSVP's may be broken!

I'm in Oxfordshire :) so at the moment have people complaining how awkward it is on public transport to get here. I completely agree with you

Jtr that we need to meet them, Im quite a shy person generally so know I need someone I feel comfortable around also I hate pictures of me they don't work so think before the day shots may help ease me.
Do we get to see the lovely new design then?

PS. can't wait to hear about the venue updates when headache shifts daisieegg
A big thank you to all those who post on the forum and make it a worthwhile place!!!:j
