As we are getting married in Scotland a friend of my mums at work is making us some tablet so everyone will be getting some of that.

Me and one of the BM's are also making chocolate heart shaped lollipops and some other silly bits.

The men are then getting personliased whiskey bottles we haven't decided what we are getting the women yet.

Just been and registered our intention of marriage :) Thought they were gonna ask all sorts of complicated questions but only wanted OHs middle name & DOB :)

Can I ask if any of you are doing favours & if so what you're doing? We're not sure at the mo as seems like something we'd be doing just because... Don't fancy spending too much but equally don't want something that looks cheap otherwise we may as well save the money, aargh dilemma! X

Oh what a coincidence, we went to give notice today as well! :D my OH couldn't remember what year I was born in...doh. And they expected him to know my dad's middle name, which he didn't! Still, we must have been convincing enough as they let us give notice :) exciting!

For favours, I am making heart shaped biscuits iced in my wedding colours, with each guest's name iced on...these will be in cellophane bags tied with a pretty ribbon, with a personalised sticker (courtesy of free offers on Vistaprint!) on the back.

We have to for our Catholic Church wedding but it's probably different for CofE. I'm sure you're right!

Maybe because the Church of England is sort of connected to the state? I don't know! But at least you don't have more admin to do :)

Well I seem to be back on the wedding wagon :)

Ordered some bits for the BMs gifts and some possible wedding undies today. Also decided instead of buying BM necklaces I'm going to make them, for about a third of the cost :money:

Had sister texting me this afternoon, asking what the date of the wedding was /sigh. At least she didn't say anything about BM dresses! :rotfl:

Really need to talk to my Dad about the wedding meal in Vegas, so we can order the invitations for the wedding. He's helping with this but haven't been able to talk to him cause he's in the US with intermittent internet access :(
We're going to get these from the same Etsy seller as the save the dates. Expensive but I want them to match, and they're so pretty :o Will change the wording a bit though.

Realised 25 save the dates magnets isn't going to cut it for the reception so am waiting for an email from Vistaprint to get more for free :money:

Hmmm favours.... Kind of undecided at the moment, but the top idea is homemade truffles or other sweets in a little box with a personalised poker chip to decorate, to tie in with the Vegas theme :D Really want to do something homemade, what ever it is as that's really 'us' Might do similar in Vegas but with bought chocs. Don't fancy carting truffles across the Atlantic  There are only 20 or so coming to Vegas though so might not bother...

Also waiting for an email back from the dress designer. Had sent some pictures of what I want, really hope they can do it!!!

  • hello all, love the sound of the favors- simple and effective!
sk00bie- i like your std idea very fitting with the theme!

I went and brought my dress but in typical me style have talked myself towards the doubt hole. So now I have the dress how did you all go about choosing shoes?

Also got the contract for venue this week to sign but there are several errors so bit concerned about how well they will actually listen :(
A big thank you to all those who post on the forum and make it a worthwhile place!!!:j
