Yep he has been given a pub to run down there so I'm stuck on my own in Essex (joys)

I think I'm just on a downer and can't snap out of it. Plus I'm working tons right now so think I'm exhausted

I keep looking but they all involve massive paycuts and taking a step back and it's equally annoying that I could give a fantastic job that I love and am making great progress with here only to be back in the area within 18-24 months lol

I'll guess use to it as its still early days (he's be gone 2 weeks 3 next Tues)

Plus I've just had my Grandparents move 150 miles away which hasn't sunk in yet.

Just feeling very isolated (i don't drive) and I work up to 18 hours a day and 7 days a week so have no me time to speak off to give me things to look forward to so I just feel stuck :(

I am sorry to hear you are feeling down, one thing I did notice is that you said you would be taking a pay cut but if you are really working that many hours and days a week surely on a pro-rata basis you wouldn't be? All the money in the world is no good if you don't feel emotionally or physically well enough to spend it hun!

I'll be completely honest here and hope you appreciate that we are all different....

I would follow my OH to the ends of the earth to be with him, even if it meant moving away from my friends/family/job. We just are not complete without each other and the longest we have ever spent apart is four nights when he had to go away for work, it was agony for both of us and we would not be able to do it long term so I do feel for you.

If it was a few months I think I would say to try and stick it out but if it is really going to be 18m/2yrs my heart would be saying MOVE, if you are doing well at the company there is no reason they couldn't take you back on when you come back if a job comes up. As a manager myself I always try and keep the door open for staff who have to leave due to a change in circs rather than just wanting to leave.

I hope you start feeling better soon anyway hun x

My main wage is 18.5k ATM due a pay rise in March that's 9-5 Monday to Friday. I earn an additional £300-400 working my pub job which goes straight towards the wedding. So once wedding is done I can quit.

An entry level job in my field where OH is only pays 12-14k. It's longer hours and a waste of the last 3 years I have a spent at my current co. Plus you have to take in job security my company is one of the few continually expanding. Also because I have been working there so long I have more rights than at a brand new job.

I can't sell my house for another 3 years due to a clause in my mortgage. I can't rent it as it needs work doing to it.

I could be lucky and come back to my company in a few years but there is no guarantee that it would bring doing a role I enjoy.

Also I move there I would be just as lonely because of the hours OH has to put in. He only gets 1 day off a week and that's mid week when I would be at work.

I'm feeling better today got some friends over to chill out and have a laugh with and I have asked to cut back on some hours at the pub so I'm able to relax a bit :)

It does sound hard hun, I do really feel for you because it sounds like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. I've done the pub working too and I know how draining it is. Will your OH be able to take a few days in a row off so you can spend a bit longer together at all?

You definitely sounded more upbeat at the end of your post :D

    In wedding related news....

Met the florist on Saturday and she is lovely, she had some great ideas and really understood how I wanted things to look and what I was trying to achieve. She has popped me a quote in the post and has told me to let her know if it's a bit on the high side (which I expected due to the flowers I have picked) and we can perhaps cut some of it down or change little bits but the flowers are my one extravagance so unless they are CRAZY prices I think we will be ok :rotfl:

Notice all done last Thursday and had a letter from the registry office inviting us to make another appointment to go through our ceremony options so will probably book that for the new year.

FINALLY sorted out my invite design, at long blinking last, so will start making them up this weekend. DD and I were going to have a go at making a sweet tree but I plugged in my glue gun and it burst into flames . Will have to go to hobbycraft and get a new one I think!

Just got the cake lady and artifical florist left to see and that will be it until next year when hair/face trials start, invites go out etc.

    :D

I feel a bit more upbeat now (still have moppy moments but trying to snap out of them). I have given the pub a letter telling them I want to redue my hours.

They want me in Weds-Sat 7-12:45pm then Sun 11:45-6 this week on top of my 9-5 Mon-Fri job it's all to much.

Congrats on your florist mine is the same knows just what I want and is very switched on she is a diamond!

I was relieved when I got my invites sorted had them for ages now all ready to send out next month I can't wait! What design have you gone for?

I hope the glue gun didn't cause an damage or hurt you. Let me know how the sweet trees work out. I've struck it lucky with mine the lady who is doing my sweet cart has chucked in 3 free. If i tried it I'd end up with it stuck to me and the table (not a good look :()

My cake is booked but going there in a few weeks to confirm sponge and filling also to give them pics of our animals so they can make little minatures of them

That is a LOT of hours hun! I was exhausted just doing one or two nights a week as you just never get any time to enjoy doing nothing :(

Invite design might sound a bit odd so I will post a pic once I have actually made the first one up but they (the ceremony & reception ones) are deep purple wallets and I have silver embossed the bottom third with a swirl/leaf pattern and am going to put ivory ribbon around the middle with a silver heart ribbon slider in the middle, so you won't see where the embossing ends. Then I have made toppers from a lovely Ivory tapestry card and have used a £1 hobby craft stamp that says 'Happily Ever After', I know it's a little odd but I didn't want them to say Wedding Invitation - not really sure why!

I will add some little sparkles/pearls in there somewhere too, has to have pearls! :rotfl: Then I need to design the inserts....it's going to be a long process! The ones for our reception when we come back from honeymoon are white square wallets but will have a similar pattern but with purple ribbon. Sounds complicated doesn't it?!

Fortunately the glue gun started flashing straight away before I even really touched it so no damage done....well apart from to my diet as I now have loads of sweets in the cupboard :o. Am going to start with using sweets with wrappers - ferreros, exclairs, lindt, celebrations etc as they should be easier to stick. I would have loved a candy cart but we just don't have the room :(, initially we thought that a capacity of 50 would be fine but once OH started writing it all out we have gone over - and that's without partners!
I was going to do a couple of chocolate sweet trees and then just some other sweets in little favour bags for people to take away.

I was hoping my florist quote would come today as she told me she sent it yesterday but it's not here! Did have a letter from the registry office asking us to make an appointment to go through ceremony choices, might do that in January once xmas is over?

Sometimes it all seems miles away but other time it feels like it could be next week!

I am really glad to hear you are feeling happier, you can always come and babble nonsense to us here ;)

It is a lot and that's why I'm being a moody cow lol Plus cant speak to OH about it too much as he feels bad he isn't at home so I tend to keep quite.

Your invites sound lovely!! I love the "Happily Ever After" that is really different.

Mine were very standard I just had a picture of an ivory rose and another next to it of a thistle. This is a running theme throught out the wedding - flowers, table flowers, table gardlands, cake ect

Wish I was a bit more creative but as I said I'd end up stuck to stuff I really have no patience lol Luckily SIL is really crafty (not in the bad way :rotfl:) so she is doing a few bits for me but I don't want to weigh her down with stuff.

Thank God the glue gun incident wasn't any worst  Shame you have all that tempation though I wouldn't be able to resist :(

I know what you mean about one min it seems ages away next round the corner & I start to panic.

I order my BM jewellery a few weeks ago only 2 out of the 6 bits have come in so that's a little annoying.

I wish I could say I was 'creative', I really enjoy making cards and things but I don't have a great imagination, I can generally copy things I have seen but that's about my limit!

The matching invites sound lovely too! My workmate had all hers done the same way and they really were stunning, I think mine might look passable at best but hey, it's kept me occupied for quite a few weekends where I have been messing about.

I really like the stamp but the ink still doesn't seem to be completely dry and I did them on Sunday?! I was thinking about using some hairspray to coat over them, just to make sure it doesn't rub off. Perhaps I will have to find a crafty forum to ask on?

Do you know when the other bits of jewellery will be arriving?
