i always try and commit as much of a raise to savings and investments as I can!

I always plan to do that, but it doesn't always pan out that way. Not that I fritter it all away on tat, just that the inevitable lifestyle inflation gets in the way  Still, the last time I got a raise, it smoothed the way towards getting our mortgage, so maybe I'm being a bit hard on myself.

This time the DD will be changed straight away, which will also serve to bring down the TER/whatever they call it on my S&S ISA :money:

Aiming for a NSD today, token £2 payments to the OP Pot and the EF. Working all weekend, so that will bring in some extra pennies at the end of the month.

Toying with the idea of doing last minute Christmas shopping this year - on leave from the 21st of Dec, so might take up a free trial to Amazon Prime and get everything at the 11th hour...

Months of pestering Quidco has finally paid off and they've paid a £45.xx cashback for our home contents insurance :)

£23 into the OP Pot and EF, and we've effectively paid £22 for our home contents cover for the year!

    Bleh :(

Worked all weekend, got lost on the way to work on Sunday, ended up staying an hour late and got locked in!

Now sitting at real work loaded with the cold wondering why my ears are packed with cotton wool...

Waiting for the financial dust to settle before saving more OP money - a token £1 into the OP Pot and EF today, with some Nectar points as I need to buy lunch.

Off to write up some reports.

Still loaded with the cold, nose has been running for 24 hours straight now!

My day went from bad to worse - I had to euthanise one of my favourite pet fish - we'd only had her for 6 months :(

So our 'make ourselves feel better' takeaway didn't taste nearly as nice as it should have. It's odd - I have to euthanise fish maybe a couple of times a week in my part time job (it's cruel to let animals with chronic injuries or diseases suffer), but it's very different when it's a pet.

    I am a big softy :o

Ed! Where've you been?! Married and a flat owner...where was my invite...my hat's got dust all over it! :p

Nice to see you here, and I'm currently threadless, which corresponds nicely to my real-life situation given that I'm looking for a new place to live.

Still can't believe you didn't invite me to the wedding or the housewarming though...*Crosses arms*

    Hello Pickle!

Lovely to have a friend from DFW come to visit us nutters in MFW land :rotfl:

I have been sadly busy in real life as you have seen and must have neglected my posting wesponsibilities. I shall tell myself off after a small whisky (for purely medicinal purposes) and will come visit your thread for a proper catchup tomorrow morning :T

That's sweet, Ed, but my thread's, um, defunct. I just loiter around other people's...:o ;)...that's probably how we haven't see each other much. Glad to see you are well, though! :D

(I expect you to make me some nice food, as well! :p)
