Sold a book on Amazon - have posted it, transferred the money and been out for a haircut (now suitably smartified for my hols).

£2.89 into both the EF and the OP pot - both will hit triple figures tomorrow and I'll have been paid by the time I get back from the sun :)

Downloaded Locoblade's spreadsheet, enjoying playing around with it.

Right - time to stop procrastinating and do some housework.

Miscalculated my dates - I could transfer cash out of GreenMetropolis today :)

£11.13 into EF and OP Pot, both are now in the £££ figures! Not much compared to some of the numbers on here, but it's a start and having money the week before payday feels like a weird luxury...

I once applied for a job I could do in my sleep with a 15k pay cut...didn't even get an interview. Completely unfair to screen people out because they look overqualified. I was unemployed (contract ended) and literally would have taken anything and tried to work my way up. Hope something comes along for you :)

I got paid Quidco, Dooyoo and Ciao this week - I feel rich...all before payday too so I know how you feel :D

Thanks ammonite, it's tough for everyone at present and while I'm grateful that I have a job that more than pays my bills, I live in hope of something that I enjoy as well :)

After your comment re. cashback I logged in to TCB to see whether my Sky payment has cleared and it has! £42.93 into the EF and OP Pot, a good day for our personal finances.

Balanced off my EF and OP Pots, both looking decidedly healthier than when I started focusing on the big goals again a few weeks ago.

Off on holiday this afternoon for a week of sun, sea, snoozing, eating and reading good books with my wife :)

Back at the beginning of October and we will have been paid by then.
  • Have a wonderful holiday!

Just back from hols where we had a lovely time - beautiful sun, food, views and friendly locals.

The mosquito bites, multiple hour delays flying back and being herded through the UK border at Gatwick have taken the edge off our return slightly, but I'm happy and relaxed - optimism switch turned back on! :)

I've been paid in my absence (both jobs, including an extra £80 that I wasn't expecting from my second job) and am getting all our transfers for the month done.

We were pretty naughty re. spending this month (holiday) and still have £500 or so to pay off a credit card for driving lessons, but think we'll have more than enough to cover it.

£62.01 into the OP Pot, £62.01 into the EF, some change in the bowl, and 60 Euros to change back tomorrow.

Well done on coming back from holiday with some cash left, I bet that feels good and also to see you have been paid as well :)
:) Been here for a long time and don't often post

Thanks Heffi1 :) Feeling vaguely organised.

Also remembered that the first payment goes into my new stocks and shares ISA this month, so starting to think that we're getting a handle on this homeowning malarky.

Just listed another 3 books on GreenMetropolis, there goes some of the holiday reads ;)

I'm still struggling to bring myself to list some titles, which is ridiculous, as I haven't read them in years. Surely if a book was that good I'd have read it more than once?

I blame my background as a librarian, I get so hung up on the occasional great read that I tend to keep a copy even when it's a past obsession...
