Topcashback has been holding out on me! They owed me the huuuge sum of £4.07, which has been duly cashed in. £2.04 to EF, £2.03 to OP Pot
Hoping to get c. £100 from them in about a month for switching our broadband etc.
*Edit:
Wife had taken £15 from loose change for lunch, £7.50 repaid to EF, £7.50 to OP Pot.
Productive day all in all0 -
Hiya - re your post on the other board about studying biology and chemistry, my daughter is doing a higher at college in the evening and they only started last week, so you might not have missed the boat. The college is saying on its website that there are still places available (in other subjects) at her college despite the courses having already started. We are in Glasgow. Your local college may still be accepting students. Good luck.
Hope you don't mind me posting here, but the other board is a bit dead. Love your wild cat!0 -
Sold a book on GreenMetropolis - good to think that a student somewhere is getting the benefit of my unread Shakespeare plays from the undergraduate days.
If they ever invented a university time machine, there's no way I'd study something as wooly as English0 -

Maybe this is where I need to put some of the books from my Masters and I guess now is the best time of year to list them. How long did it take for your book to sell?MFW 2025 No. 7 £1530/£2700
MFiT-T7 No. 6 £3571.87/£30,0000 -
I also just gave away a load of books to the charity shop, definitely should have spent a bit of time and tried to ebay them!0

Quick rule of thumb is that it's not worth posting anything that can't be sent 2nd class - I recently sold a book for £8 on Amazon and cancelled the order because it was going to cost me £7 to post 1st class (not including packaging!)How long did it take for your book to sell?
I've sold 20 books in about 12 weeks, so call it 1.5 books/week? Can't say we're talking about masses of profit here - the standard price for a sold novel is roughly £3, maybe £1.80 profit a book?
You are given options when listing them (i.e. you can sell them at £2.50, £3.00, £3.50 etc.) This allows you to charge a little more postage for heavier titles, but it's also a good way to move items faster. I always tend to choose the second highest price, seems to shift them faster.
I just bought a Kindle after 2 years of swithering - all electronic from here on in. I'm not buying a bigger home just to store books0 -

Another book has gone on GreenMetropolis, seems to be a slow but steady trickle at the minute.
It means I'll need to go get more envelopes, but the exercise will do me good and it's nice to get out of the office at lunch
Think I'm up to £29 or so that I can request on the 21st, all good.0 -
Somewhat saddened to hear that I won't be getting an interview for a library job I applied for
On paper, I'm probably over-qualified and I suppose the fact that it was a £15k salary drop might have helped screen me out.
That aside, very frustrated as I put a lot of effort into completing the giant application form!
I think I'll mention my Saturday retail job in future applications - show them that I'm willing to get my hands dirty in the pursuit of useful work...
The gloomy part of me feels a bit rejected though, as recruiters can't be entirely unaware of how tough the jobs market is at present?0
