That's the spirit. Life is too short! Simplify is the key. Less is more. Etc.0

oooh I like the house

It's nice, but a good bit smaller than inlaws across the road. That said, they have crazy neighbours with a hot tub, so maybe it's not such a problem.
I think £200k-220k would be about our limit. Much over £1k/mth mortgage and I'll get palpitations
Not a big fan of new build, but this sort of vintage is fine. Can take cavity wall insulation, solar panels and the bedrooms aren't totally tiny.0 -
Nice house - but nothing you could add value to? Don't think I'd want to live opposite in laws
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Well, they are currently a 15 minute walk away and MIL has been volunteered as babysitter-in-chief for when we start a family
We get on really well with them!
This morning sees me getting the whoopsy to end them all from Tesco home delivery. I requested a 1.2kg pork joint (£4.19) and ended up getting a *4.67kg* joint at £16.61. That's the same weight as an adult cat!
When I called them, the girl I spoke to seemed confused (I wanted them to take it back). Instead, she refunded me the difference, so I now have an entire shelf filled with pork at 89p/kilo :rotfl:0 -
(Pork) Chopping prices - every little helps!0

We went to the park, where they had a selection of 'Easter animals'.
As well as the usual suspects, some really cute baby chicks, a giant German rabbit (think the size of a dog more than a rabbit) and a Highland cow (complete with sleeping calf).
Fascinating stuff, apart from the hordes of children too young to have a concept of manners and their parents, too middle class to restrain them with anything firmer than strained pleas
Very grateful for the free entertainment, hurrah for my local council's events planning skills.0 -
Lol in regards to the middle class parents not wanting to yell.... I used to be a bit like that with mine, but that's long forgotten and I'm happy to have rediscovered my working class roots where I'm happy to raise my voice and threaten violence should they misbehave and make a show of me!0
