Good to hear other experiences of accounts. I'm currently paid weekly so it's a bit of a nightmare managing it all properly so I'm not happy to commit to any new accounts at the moment. Such a shame as more good ones seem to be vanishing all the time!

What an odd day today has been so far!
    1. Got up at 6 (driving theory test at 8  ) and was violently sick after my morning coffee
    2. Went to the theory test, got a very respectable 48/50 :j
    3. Went to the local pub for breakfast with Mrs E for a celebration breakfast (in the snow :snow_laug)
    4. Came home, went back to bed and fell asleep
    5. Got back up at 3 p.m. for some light housework

Now sitting in a pleasant haze noodling online.

A pants week at work, I am now in my 'trough' for the month (after the busy period) and find it harder to motivate myself when time pressures drop off. I.e. I can be as lazy as the best of them.

More productive on the money front.
    1. Paid the platform fees for our S&S ISA
    2. Applied for an account with the Spanish bank (£55 cashback with TCB if it goes through)
    3. Got a mahoosive shop delivered from Mr T last night, spent half of our food budget, but lots of good deals
    4. Spent far too much on champagne for my 30th :o

Now that I've misappropriated our stooze for the Emergency Fund, our financial goals for the rest of the year have changed somewhat:
    1. Pay down stooze with a stoozette (regular payments into instant access acc)
    2. Reduce the TER on our investments (due to the platform fees, it's currently a horrendous 9% or so ). This one is easy - invest more = lower TER
    3. Fill the last £500 of cash ISA money

I still very much appreciate the idea of MFW, but stools don't stand on one leg and building up some more liquid assets has to sit next to reducing debts :)

I may have coined a new phrase there :rotfl:

Well done on the theory test and good luck for the practical. :T

Love your stool analogy - don't worry, MFW isn't full of mortgage die-hards who think every penny should go off the mortgage before building up any other assets. There are plenty of us with more than one leg to our stools. :)
    Starting again 13/4/19
    Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99
    Total owed: £28,801.49

That may be true, but there are a lot of people who are borderline fanatical with the MFW 'lifestyle'. I have seen a collective lack of imagination when it comes to what they will do with the money once the mortgage is gone!

For me, sensible investments are the 2nd leg, convenient frugality the 3rd :)

Don't sully my awesome new phrase with poop jokes GG :p

    Congrats on theory test.

I hope your stool stops wobbling very soon!

Oh dear - I just identified another joke in the stool/liquid assets area :D

An odd reverse account tidy today, with £1.84 going into the ISA. I have taken money out at some point (bad Mr E!) which means the balance is going to look all wonky by April 6! I can add £633 by the end of the tax year, think we can just about scrape that (1 more payday to go). I think I'll need to use some of my spare money, which is a nuisance, but is for the greater good.

Driving lesson today - looking forward to having 'REACT REACT REACT' yelled at me :p

Driving lesson wasn't horrendous and my instructor has suggested that I book my practical test for the first week of April. So close!

I'll try and get that sorted out this evening, at £62 a pop, I'm hoping it doesn't take me too many attempts...

I have started our stoozette to pay down the stooze (everything ends up overly complicated with me). Until it can be paid off, I'll set aside £100/mth and try to pay in an extra £3/day. If anything, micro targets like this probably reduce the amount of interest earned, but it's nice to have the incremental challenges to keep me motivated :)

    £103 into stoozette
    £2 into cash ISA

Off to see if TCB owe me anything.
