I'm robbing a well know phrase, you might recognise the original -- you can't please all of the accounts (people) all of the time. You can please some of the accounts all of the time and all of the accounts some of the time. We all go through it. Next month is my black hole but stick with it. Even when you are not achieving your own goals you are helping others with advice. Chin up chicken.0

Hey Ed - nice to see you!
Keep smiling my lovely, everything will be great0 -
Oh thank goodness you are OK Ed!
I had convinced myself you had had a particularly bad driving lesson or something :eek::eek:
I have no MFW news really but still post to bore people with my drivel about how many DooYoo points I have daily :rotfl::rotfl:
Good luck with the driving lessons and think of them as an investment :T0 -
Hurray hurray you're back:j
Well done on getting to the roundabout stage (I still don't understand them fully, along with road signs, road markings and motorways:p)
Very pleased that we all have our favourite "MFW husband" back in our lifes:DFebruary13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D

Stuffed full of chili, I am having a bit of 'me time' and very much looking forward to the weekend
Lovely to hear from so many of you, I will catch up with diaries tomorrow.
I have cleaned up the fish tank, carried out a small repair to the filter and all the water tests look to be good. Despite the odd bit of muck, they're very therapeutic pets.
I have also discovered that Christmas is a great time to round off all the small household projects/purchases you didn't quite get round to during the year. This year's odd gift ideas include coat stands, a media streamer for the TV and water test kits :rotfl: I'd be happy enough with a cheque, but it's nice to receive a few parcels to open on the day.
I have sorted out the DD switch to our new FD current account, fingers x'ed the £100 cashback will come in time for Christmas. I have also maxed out the £100 cashback from my Aqua card for the year, gone from 0 to 500+ Nectar points in a few weeks and have restarted all our savings pots like a good MFW. That, and £1 payments to the EF and OP pots to stick with the habit.
Mrs E is starting to look forward to the weekend - she has an advent card, an advent calendar and our trip to buy a Christmas tree to look forward to. Me, I'm just in it for the eggnog :xmassmile0 -

As the cashback credit card is maxed out for the year, I think it's time to try my hand at stoozing
I have opened a Tesco credit card, 0% on purchases for 16 months. The credit limit isn't particularly high (c. £2250), but it'll be a safe way for me to dip my toes into the stoozing water, so to speak.
Not sure whether to save the money towards the CC in our FD regular savers, or my 3% ISA (will check a calculator later). Either way, it's probably only going to amount to £50 or so, but I'm always interested in a good money hack. The other good thing about stoozing is that it should be considerably less complicated than managing my cashback CC was! :T
Have been grocery shopping today, taken out the rubbish, recycling and glass recycling. Having a quiet afternoon with Mrs E, so due to share a pot of tea and order some more Christmas prezzies soon.
Feeling relaxed and cheerful, although it's very chilly in our neck of the woods!
Have a lovely weekend all.0 -
Argh - I've got the dreaded lurgy! Throat feels like it's being grated, nackered, sore head etc. Standard workplace cold I suppose
Largely quiet on the MFW front - sold 3 books on Green Metropolis and transferred £2.50 into both my OP Pot and EF after my Halifax reward came in.
I think we've now got 2/3 of our Christmas presents, the tree is up (a 7' monster) and is looking lovely. I am counting both the days of work left until Christmas and the sleeps :rotfl:0 -
Hope you feel better soon. Its not nice being ill on the run up to Christmas.
Keep your chin up.

Thanks MCI. Not feeling at my best, but keeping my head down and trying to occupy my time with some administrative busy work
Top Cashback owed me some money (including a £10 referral payment - anyone else who wants to join is welcome to PM me for a link!) I have cashed out, meaning that I've made 2 OPs in one day. It feels like a long while since that happened last, very pleased :T £6.22 into OP Pot and EF.0
