I think my talk of marriage frightened him off :(

    Slinks back in...

You are a lovely bunch - it is nice to feel missed! :)

The last couple of weeks have been horrible. A lot of stress at work due to underwork, challenging colleagues and cackhanded attempts by my boss to change my duties to tasks that I don't feel in any way comfortable with. I 'had it out' with my boss in a polite, but very firm way yesterday and she appears to have taken my feelings on board. It doesn't address the issues of underwork/lack of relevant work, but at least there's a crack in the gloom for the first time in a couple of months.

This has had me really down in the dumps and I've been eating c@rp, sleeping badly and generally not feeling like myself. Hopefully I can relax into the Christmas run-up now?

I've also been avoiding MFW because I have been completely unable to save anything for OPs due to the costs of driving lessons. By the end of the month, Mrs E and I will have spent c. £1800 on them and we *might* need another block before passing. This hasn't done wonders for my cheer levels, either.

    On the positive:
    • Trip to Edinburgh was lovely, although it didn't feel at all Christmassy (just like a fun evening and day). We got some amazing foodstuffs from the Jenners food court
    • Christmas shopping goes ok, although I remain a little shocked at the excess of it all
    • I'm on to roundabouts (not literally) in my driving lessons
    • Mrs E and I are well
    • I'm back on the cooking bandwagon - pork chili that has been cooking for nearly 20 hours in the sc tonight!
Thanks for all the messages and I hope you're all well in MFW land :T

dont beat yourself up about not being able to save much the last few weeks...the fact that it is still in your mind is a good thing.

Hope everything settles down for you and also the driving lessons come to an end....although then you will have the delight of a car and that expense!!!

    Chin up xx

  • Yay....good to have you back.

Sorry things have been rotten for you. But now you can see light try to focus on the Christmas break.

Don't worry too much about not saving too much for Ops - things do get in the way sometimes - you will get there.

  • Hi Mr E, we were all getting a bit worried so glad to see you posting. I don't profess to be an expert in this MFW stuff at all however, my advice would be to keep posting. Even if you only make tiny OPs ( goodness I've been known to move 3p and very probably less :o), posting keeps the focus going.

Glad to hear you fancy cooking again. We find that there are waves of enthusiasm, when the freezer is full to the gunnels, then we need some time off for a while. At that point we just live on the freezer contents :)

Good luck with the driving lessons.

    Best wishes Tilly
