Er, if passive smoking did more harm than direct smoking then surely, logically, everyone would start smoking as a damage limitation measure?#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

The lady came tonight and left me with 6 packs to try!
To all those who came and are coming to this thread to spout their !!!!!!!!, can I just say - IT CLEARLY STATES ON THE THREAD TITLE 'FREE CIGARETTES' HENCE IF YOU DON'T SMOKE, DON'T READ THE BLOODY THREAD!!
It's my choice to smoke and in all honesty I don't give a damn how much smokers are costing the NHS, seeing how I pay my taxes on fags and through working! Ok, non-smokers may begrudge paying taxes for NHS treatment for smokers, but I resent paying taxes for things like obesity (people have the choice not to eat and eat and eat and eat..) and the associated illnesses that come from that. I also resent paying taxes for those that just want to sit around on their lazy backsides and not actively seek work - but hey, that's life and unless we get to choose where and to whom we want to pay our taxes to, (which is highly unlikely), we just have to accept that it is part of life and lump it.
There's no point whatsoever in non-smokers coming to this thread, so if you don't like people smoking, may i suggest you keep away from this thread and sound your unwanted views elsewhere? How about down the pub on July 1st? After all, someone needs to keep the landlords/ladys (being politically correct here)/bar staff/breweries in business as smokers leave the pubs in their droves...0 -

i find it strange that some people were only left 4 packs to try, when the lady called the first time, during the questionaire it stated that i would be left with 2 packs of each strength...light, medium and regular.0 -

It has been proven in Ireland that this will not be the case and actually long term pubs will profit from this ban.
It will encourage more people to visit pubs as there will be no smoking atmosphere and lets be clear = 75% of the public DO NOT smoke hence smokers are in a minority here.
Why have some people recieved 4 packs and some 6?!Mortgage as Sept 2012: £96,000
