mmm sweet potatoe curry - now that sounds delicious - gosh is it lunchtime yet?

I think VD is highly overrated as well. I didnt get anything and OH was rude and barely looked at my card and so I am eating the chocolates! :D I wish I hadnt bothered now - tbh things are not great at home but I thought that might help as its normally him that always gets cards - I usually dont bother.

Anyhoo - poorly pony and her bessie went out into small little paddock today as she is literally climing the walls in the stable. Have left big bandage on and put travel boots on her front legs. My little mare (her bessie) took off prancing and snorting around the paddock with moves to die for - literally floating - if only I could get that under saddle. Big girl had a whirl around - looked 100% sound but then did start to limp. By the time I had done my stable (4 barrows out due to 2 days box rest and box walking!) they were chilled! Going to see what state bandage is in tonight and if ok will leave another day. Not looking forwarding to aftercare of the big open wound!

Anyway look at me gabbing away on your thread - hope you have a fab day and send Captain kisses from my girls - I am sure they would luurve him :D

Thanks Noo - for 7 years I have only had routine stuff and then last year insurance renewal I upped the excess to bring down premiums. We also moved off a rented farm back to civilisation and horses went back to livery. This yard is fab but they only do geldings in one field and mares in another and with nearly 30 horses you can imagine its a big crowd. The old boy (19) got kicked to the knee just before xmas and now this week mare 2 has same type of injury. At first they thought fracture but luckily she will be ok - just got a nice chunk of flesh missing which due to where it is cannot be stitched.

We have decided that they are just not used to socialising or getting out the way of flying hooves. :o They dont stand up for themselves and of course now in winter when there is more mud than grass they seem to spend more time messing about than ever.

i'm sure your puddy cat isn't over large especially if someone in the medical profession says so as well, it's the same with mine. I think it's her sister who's small (even though she eats everything before the other one gets there).

Love the cheek of Captain, very sensible horse you have there, why eat the boring bits first? they'll still be there later when you need to go back for seconds!

Definitely, not over large, just tall as I keep telling him!:) He does eat quite a lot, [six pouches a day and cat milk] and he has a lovely shiny coat. He's a one woman cat which can be embarrassing when someone goes to fuss him and he shoots off as if they were a cat murderer. U:rotfl:nless he's tarting himself at the vet, she seems to be the exception to the rule

He's a rescue cat, I love saying that, I always see myself with knickers over tights, rescuing him from a burning building...In fact he came from the cat sanctuary, which doesn't sound so dramatic!:)

The Captain only goes out with mares. He runs a lonely mares club and is put out with any mare that has no friends or cannot be with another horse for whatever reason. He is very gentle and loving towards them, with one mare in particular, he is a little too loving, but she leads him on terribly:D

He can't go out with other geldings unless they admit he's king of the field :o I'm afraid it's one twitch of the ear and the geldings run for cover.

He has a bit of a thing for a shetland called Lucy and frequently breaks into her stable to be with her. Well, the front half of him does, she gets quite annoyed with him and bites his knees, but that doesn't discourage him in the slightest. He just leans forward and grooms her bottom for her. As you walk across the yard you can see the giant white bottom sticking out a tiny stable with an irate shetland shouting the equine equivalent of 's*d off' from between his legs. It must be love...

lol now that has to be seen! that's so funny.
i feel like i starve my cats now, they get two sachets between them and a bowl of biscuit that gets topped up. I do have a mamma's girl and daddy's girl cat though they are very jealous of each other if they both try to get attention from the same person.
