Naughty girl! you have to do your diary too! Where's my entertainment in all this?
I am, but don't want to be a brand director. How pretentious that sounds. I used to be a artist/designer but I had an accident and my wrist doesn't flex enough for the intricate work required in design and art. It was a natural step to move into the brand management role from there. However, the title can mean many things, my experience means I lead the brand from the visual perspective rather than the sales.
I'm looking at that type of job, but there aren't many for my level of experience and I'm finding that when I apply for a more junior role that I'm not getting anywhere. It was suggested by a recruitment expert that I'm not going to be employed by someone who thinks I can do their job.
However, I don't want to go back into it, it's stressful, political and has horribly long hours.

I cannot believe what the man pet has just done for me.
He has just paid for and enrolled me on a home study course called 'Write and Be Published'!! I had been looking at the course as it helps you with ideas and shows you the quickest way into print. It teaches you how to write articles, short stories, novels as well as writing for radio, TV and stage and covers journalism. Plus masses of other stuff. It's a four year course, I'm so excited!:j
I so want to see if I can do it yet I knew I couldn't afford a course like this. All I need now is the material to arrive. I'll be the one mugging the postman:laugh:
All other doings of the day pale into insignificance, but I did apply directly for the job I was turned down for via the agency - I took note of Chev's suggestion and acted on it.
I applied for a local job that I will probably be considered over-qualified for, and therefore, get no response. I did a YouGov survey on my views on homosexuality, never done a survey like that before, I normally get the baked beans type survey...
I still haven't cleared a kitchen cupboard, I'll have to do two tomorrow and I haven't made a start on my recipe project, again, another one for tomorrow.
Bless man pet.

Hello, I remember the stories about Captain, he sounds a character.
Your curry sounds yummy, I'm yet to find a nice recipe for a sweet potato curry.
Well done on clearing all that debt. Hope you find a job soon.

Wow Man pet really listens to you! What a star he is.
Money saving not going too well for me at the moment, my purse and bank account just keep haemorrhaging money. Horses seem to be costing more and more. Can't keep up with the amount of feed and haylage that we are using, roll on the summer. Just booked 2 clips for the horses - £65 OMG - in the wrong business!
Hope Captain's well.

Hi Piquant...good to hear about the course..that is so cool. Really thoughtful too. Having now realised what you used to do I think you will probably be rather gifted at writing for a living so keep on going! Live the dream! My OH writes well..up for an award last week actually. But he does go over and over ( and over!) stuff he has written all the time..getting it so that it's just perfect..as I am a 'it'll do' kinda person it makes for an interesting dialogue in our house sometimes!!
Best of luck with the cupboards...I am overdue to do mine by about 2 years!! When I get eBaying again maybe I can sell some of it..will save having to tidy it again in the next decade if it's all gone!!
Cheers

Truthfully, I'm still a little overwhelmed, after all the years of being on my own, and finding a couple of wrong 'uns, I can't believe I met such a kind and decent man on a dating site. And he listens, obviously!
Maybe a little too well at times, he was coming to dinner on Saturday and he asked if he could bring something with him, he said he had already got the wine. I had tried all week to not go to the supermarket again, and succeeded. So I asked him to get some salad. 'What sort of salad exactly?' asks he. 'Just some baby spinach, if they haven't got that, an iceberg lettuce or a romaine lettuce. And a yellow pepper, a red will do if there isn't a yellow.' Up he turns, pleased as punch with a bag of spinach, an iceberg and a romaine, complete with two bags of mixed peppers....Tonight for dinner I cooked pasta with spinach and roasted red peppers, I have no idea what to do with the excess iceberg and romaine lettuce!
Only two years over on the cupboards?? Some of mine haven't been touched since the kitchen went in five years ago...:o I'm dreading the one with the spices and baking products in. Many of the bits on the second shelf are stuck down with various spilt substances such as syrupLots of hot water and white vinegar I think!

Thank you Tigzem, I remember you too and, of course, your avatar, very distinctive!
I'm happy to write up the sweet potato curry recipe if you like.

I've spent a lot today too. Petrol and horse shoes.
The Captain has the standard feed and hay that is provided on the yard, but I pay a fair bit for a joint supplement to help keep him moving as well as his absolute favourite, garlic granules.
That's quite a lot for a clip, I get charged £20 to do the Captain, and believe me he is hairy, thick, thick coat. He is never tied up for a clip, he goes to sleep and actually snores and dribbles whilst it's being done. The girl who comes to clip the horses always asks to do him first as he is so easy.
Today he has been out to play with a couple of mares from his lonely mares club. However, they are now in season and asking for a little more than a roll in the mud  The poor lad can't oblige but is certainly getting an eyeful!
