What a lovely (and romantic! ;) Romance isn't all flowers and nonsense!) thing your fella did for you! :):):) So chuffed for you :):) xx

I think you may be right about the romance thing, this is the most wonderful present. I am going to make him a Dundee cake at the weekend as it's his favourite. Not too worried about the extra cost on the groceries, it's only the fruit and nuts, and it's a celebration cake, so therefore, will cost a little!

How are you keeping Cheery? I have a mental picture of you a small smiley yellow daffodil. Incidentally, daffodils are the best flowers ever, they welcome the spring.

Obviously on a high from yesterday's present. I cleared and cleaned four kitchen cupboards including the dreaded baking and spice one. All stickiness has been wiped away, the often used spices are at the front, the bread flours are neatly lined up. I have saved masses of Klipits from cupboard oblivion. Decanted several double opened sugars, rices and pastas into single containers, thereby saving lots of space. And found my blackbird pie funnel. Lucielle will be pleased with me.

As an added bonus, I got all the out of date bits and rubbish out before the binmen collected this morning - Yay me!

A loaf of bread is already out the breadmaker and tempting me to an early lunch. Even I know 10:30am is a little too early:D

I've set up files on the laptop, email and a hard copy file for my course material. I'm ready and raring to go.

Also looked round the job boards, nothing there today. Haven't heard back from yesterday's applications :(

I've done a survey, this time on supermarkets, not as interesting as yesterdays! :D

On the downside, I got hit by bank charges, the money wasn't in the right place over the Christmas period, my fault, but really annoying!

I'm hoping to write a bit more on the book before I go to visit the Captain, we're going out on a hack in the sunshine today.

And why would I turn down the chance to make a new friend? Hello Pinot I'm really pleased to see you!

I'm generally a cheerful, laid back sort of person, I have the odd moment, maybe that should read, 'I have normal moments' :rotfl:
Unless, of course, romance is involved, then I can't cope!

I'm ever so lucky that so many interesting and lovely people have joined me here, there seems to be a love of animals and life that binds us together. Perhaps lubricated with the odd glass of wine...;)

Lucielle I aim to please, especially you!

Tomorrow, it's the one under the sink - yuk...

There's a great thread on the OS board called 'What non standard job have you done today?' which may help me with some of the outstanding tasks, that you always meant to get around to, but rarely do. I'm going to try and do at least a couple a week. Who knows, one day I may repair the hole in the fence!

you definitely don't need to be going back to your Man shop to invoke the guarentee or warranty as you've certainly managed to purchase a keeper who is actually getting you the things that you need just by listening to you. Usually it takes a couple of handwritten notes by me to get Mr LT to register something and i consider him to be one of th better ones lol
hope you and Captain enjoy the sun at the moment
  • My word you've been busy.

All cupboard cleaning and romance and cake baking on here.

With the odd hack of course.

I love the idea of a non-standard job - might go off and hunt that thread out.

My septic tank is needing cleaned.

Whilst an unstandard job, I'm not sure I'm keen but it needs done, sadly my man pet, whilst returning soon, isn't the type to do 'jobs'.

    Have a great hack.

Waves a hearty hello and will go off and do something productive.

Re the honey dressings It's amazing I work in NHS and a lot of the old remedies are returning - we have been using lava therapy LOOK AWAY IF YOU ARE SQUEEMISH ( maggots) ok you can look back on really mucky wounds and in 4 days they are clean . Honey is an excellent antibacterial and the wound should heal quickly
