. I have a lot of vintage clothes. Alternatively, I may call in at the vintage clothes shop in town.
Still not got my head around signing on, but I know I'll have to do it next week. Perhaps Tuesday...
Piq
I would give the shop a go , look online for another one to see what kind of prices they charge in different areas to get the best price.Member of change Pip's name back to PIP club

Hi Piquant, I've been lurking away since you started your new diary (didn't know you before). I was waiting with baited breath for the pants-related adventure and it didn't disappoint, what an escapade!
I'm not horsey, truth be told I am a bit scaredy of them. I have decided this year I am going to confront that though and take myself for a riding lesson. I do admire them as creatures of speed and grace....probably because they remind me of the following....
I have 2 dippy greyhounds - retired racers. Well, one is more dippy than the other. He is very soppy and needy, She is very independent and thinks He is an idiot. He is in love with anything small and yellow that resembles a tennis ball. She is in love with anything that looks like her bed. He generally does what he is told and humours me by responding enthusiastically when I call his name. She doesn't, she wags her tail a little to acknowledge her name and then carries on with whatever she was doing. I genuinely think she believes she can get what she wants just by being stunningly beautiful.....
So I will be subscribing and look forward to hearing more adventures about the Captain. Great news about the course, how exciting! And how utterly wonderful of your man pet (fab description) to pay attention like that with such an amazing present :T
And as for that reduction in debt......WOW! :j0 -
Where have you been? How's life been treating you? Are you going to start a diary - go on, dare you...
Piq
Well I now have sciatica which I didnt have before, or maybe reading your diary brought it on.
Where have I been ,around keeping busy ,
we ploughed on with the DFW and made it after 7 years but it was a good feeling , 57K all paid thanks to this site and the helpful tips people post all the time. That was last year.:T:T:beer::j:j:j
Before that I was made redundant  and changed jobs:eek: same career but took a step down and so much better less stress more time at home and even most evenings off and some weekends , thats never happend before in my working life (chef) :j
I've run a website since before 2000 ( cue yawns ) and last year I had an exciting email in my inbox which opened up a door to something which has been a part of my life for 25 years as a hobby.
I'm still invloved in the project which should complete later this year.
Let's just say I now know how much behind the scenes work goes into releasing a DVD, all stuff you take for granted when you open the box.
Its led to other things for me to look into for the same person so keeps me pretty busy.
Hopefully it will continue as I really enjoy it and I got to go to a place they make movies for a day out and would like to go back again and again.
Mrs Hampsterpoo got made redundant in Jan after 16 years and got a new shiney job ,,,,at Peacocks, ,,yer who knew
,,hopefully she is one of the lucky ones kept on after todays news.
I feel sorry for the unlucky ones having been through it twice now in 5 years.
A diary:rotfl: that would be a no. My life is really work dinner and bed most days. With the rare occasional spark of interesting stuff.
sorry to take over your diary but you did askMember of change Pip's name back to PIP club

Hi Piq,
I subscribed to your diary a while ago and have been so entertained - your style of writing is brilliant. I truly believe you will have no problems with the writing course, and the subsequent books that will inevitably follow.
I couldn't read and run after your wonderful account of the hack. I have only just stopped laughing at my pc, and now my kids are looking at me with the suspicion that they were right all along - I really am mad.
Thank you for sharing your story with us.

Thank you tjp
I've opened the box! There is so much course literature in there. I'm going to set aside time each day to cover it. To look at the basic information, tomorrow I'm going to set my alarm early, get a cup of coffee and go back to bed and start reading...
I really want to write, I hope that this thread helps a little, you know, keeps a discipline in place.
Thank you for popping by, please come again.

...and hello Lionhearted!
My friend has a greyhound, he is the sweetest of dogs, so gentle and delightfully soppy. I'd love a dog so much, unfortunately, the Bear wouldn't...
I see nothing wrong with getting your own way because you're stunningly beautiful? Nothing at all, bless her!

Hampster, congratulations on that massive debt clearance, that is amazing!
I knew you were a chef, I didn't know you had a website, are you going to pm the address over? As you might have gathered I'm trying to change career and take writing professionally, I will have to get another job in the meantime, but if I work hard on the course I may manage to get published and make money that way.
The DVD side of things sounds fascinating, no wonder you want to keep doing it, are you a Steven Speilberg in the making?
You carry on with the work, dinner and bed routine, just to be a rebel you could change the order...

Right Piq, you've paid taxes all your life, YOU ARE ENTITLED TO IT. So don't give the snotty bags another thought and go and get what's yours. It will help to tide you over whilst you do your writing! Consider yourself told off. I'll let you off the kitchen cupboard as mines a tip.

I am still smiling about the captain, the boxers and the falcon :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Thank you so much for posting and making me smile :j
It can be such fun to ride and it keeps you on your toes (or should that be in the saddle) when they get spooked over the silliest things.
We had a stables in the village I grew up in and I got paid for mucking out and helping with the leading reins in free rides. This was no ordinary stables, it was set up because the girl kept going to the auctions with her Dad and kept bidding against the meat man. She ended up with more horses and ponies than she could ride herself and so started a hacking stables. Because of the way she got them some had interesting character flaws :rotfl:
One shetland was the most amazing leading rein pony, so gentle and kind. Off leading rein he was a menace. He would bolt across a field, stop dead and put his head down. We tried and tried to stop him doing this and failed dismally. He was even responsible for me (re)breaking my ankle three days after it came out of plaster - my fault, I should have been ready for the sudden stop :rotfl::j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -

I know, I know. I don't understand why I'm so ashamed of being made redundant, I still have friends who don't know because I haven't told them. I would say to anyone else, it wasn't personal, it happens to just about everyone these days, use it as an opportunity to change, move on or better your life. I seem incapable of taking my own advice.
I found the whole signing on and interviewing setup deeply distressing. Consequently I haven't gone back. However, I honestly can't survive for much longer financially. So I have to go back. Maybe I'll use the experience as my first writing assignment, they want you to write about going somewhere and bringing it to life! Possibly not what they have in mind!
I will do it, I have to do it. Tuesday.
Sorry Lucielle, please have a virtual ride on the Captain to make up for my ill humour!
