I am still smiling about the captain, the boxers and the falcon :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Thank you so much for posting and making me smile :j
My pleasure, thank you for keeping me company. I'll write up another one soon. I'll intersperse them with riveting stories of my kitchen cupboards and meals from wilting vegetables. Perhaps I'll tell you the story of the Captain, the Know-it-all and the Muck heap.

Excellent, love the Captain.
Thanks for the recipe I'll have a go at that soon.
Exciting about your course x
Thank you Tig
How are you? I so love your smiley avatar, it makes me grin everytime I look at it.
It occurs to me that in the recipe, you may need to take down the cooking time as I have suggested pre-roasting the butternut squash to add flavour, however, I can't check what I put from here. I may have to come back and edit.
Edit: Take the cooking time down to 30 minutes if the butternut squash is already roasted, by the way, it's really nice if you stir in some wilted spinach for the last 10 minutes of cooking.

I was so excited about the course work arriving that I couldn't sleep! Which, of course, was not beneficial to the planned early morning start.
I have read through the first two modules; and realised that there's now a shopping list. However, I do have a lovely wicker filing box that I keep in the hall with a lamp on it. I haven't used it for a while, so that became my first job of the morning, sorting through the box. I have masses of unused Christmas cards, tags, ribbons and paper. Christmas stationery is sorted, probably for the next two years, there's quite a lot, it's now in a large cardboard box in the garage. There were also plenty of envelopes, file dividers and hanging files; now all sorted waiting for some work to be filed away.
However I will need a decent dictionary, thesaurus and a couple of reference books that are used throughout the course. I will be researching how cheaply I can buy these online later.
I need to drop a couple of emails to contacts to see if they have or know of any work. I've already trawled the job sites, nothing new.
If I do anything remotely interesting I'll update later.
In the meantime, have lovely days one and all.

LMAO re the pants and falcon story! Captain sounds fantastic
Wish Baldrick was like that, could never get over his logic, he would walk over motorway bridges, past flapping umbrellas, cows, hgv lorries wizzing past with air brakes going of and nothing, didnt bat an eyelid! But give him a killer leaf or ant in his path, well that was another issue:cool:
Ebay there are shops that sell for you, or a willing friend, dont know how close you are to me. I seem to be selling for everyone else at the moment, my house is slowly turning into a shop :rotfl:

Now that was just what I needed to read - nearly soaked the computer snorting tea.
Reminded me of the day Gorgeous George decided the cyclist apparently on the Tour De England needed to be taught a lesson and bit the waistband of the cycling shorts then stopped pulling down the shorts from the cyclist who was still cycling away. He had cut us up meandering down the road, given a horse could reach the waistband of the shorts tells you how close to hitting G's legs he was!
But the picture of the cyclist's face looking back at the Ginger Wonder gobbling green froth all over his bum was so funny I couldn't do anything remotely sensible to assist, so laughed quite a lot instead!
You are very lucky to have a horse to ride, I miss my boy every day, and he left this planet some 5 years ago now.Start info Dec11

Good Story
I remember my old boy leaping over a tiny purple flower at flat out gallop and I know because after nearly falling off as he cork screwed over it I went back to see what on earth it wash and yet 3 deer leaping out of wood next to us - he did nothing. My my little mare - well she is scared of her own shadow so our hacks are very interesting and I cannot take her on her own - its just too much hard work!
Your course work arrived fast - gosh you will publishing before you know it lol :rotfl:0 -
BB, Lam and Missrir lovely to see you on our virtual hack:wave:
It's astonishing what a horse will spook at and what he will ignore, you never can tell. Sometimes I've nearly jumped out of the saddle at bird flying at me and the Captain has given me a look that says wimp...
I love the story of the cycling shorts, what a wonderful picture!
The Captain's not keen on deer, donkeys, cows, sheep or birds of prey. However, the largest of combine harvesters a foot away, a double-decker bus, chainsaw or parachutist landing 50 feet away, no problem.
What part of the country are you in BB, I'd willing pass all my stuff on for eBaying! I am going to investigate the vintage clothes shops next week and see if they buy in bulk.
