hi Piq, good to see you back and having made such a huge dent in your debt figures.
sounds like you've nabbed yourself a goodun with your man pet, if your cat gets fed up with Whiskers then i know two others who'd be gratefull :)

Hi Piq, another animal lover here, 3 chickens, 3 dogs and 3 horses :o Unfortunately my horses are costing me a bit at the mo but have not in the past. We recently moved from a farm to a livery yard and I suppose its all part of adjusting. My eldest is 20 this year and is also starting to feel his age on the cold days - your Captain sounds wonderful. :D

I have to say what a massive achievement in your debt busting - can definitely learn a thing or two from you in perseverance and stamina. Well done.

Good luck with the job hunting - I know its really hard out there at the moment.

Enjoy your valentines day - I too am not a romantic but my OH is a bit so I did make an effort today and made him a card and bought him some chocolates (which I will probably end up eating).
  • Hi Piq

How weird, I was thinking of you yesterday, I used to read your diary and you just disappeared, and for some reason you popped into my head and here you are again. Well done on the debt-busting.

Hello Goochie - I remember you! Hope you are well, all the reasons for my disappearance are in the opening post. I plan to stay this time though. I'd never been made redundant before and it hit harder than I could ever imagined. Strangely, it's not the lack of a payday that caused the problem, it was the emotional trauma and shame. However, I'm dealing with that now and moving on with my life.

Please stay around, it's so lovely to find all my all friends are still around.

Ah Lemon Tree, don't I just know I've found a goodun! I'm probably a bit odd preferring to receive Whiskas rather than chocolates but as my Mum would say 'it takes all types'

Your avatar cat looks adorable, my cat called the Bear is also a tabby, although he is huge. I have to keep telling people that he is tall, not fat. It does seem, however, that the catflap has shrunk a little in the snow, recently,he seems to have quite a squeeze to get through...

Thank you Lam, oh I'd like a dog, maybe when I get my career sorted out and can work from home. Your set up sounds idyllic, I am envious.

The Captain is a story in himself, he is even known to the local fire brigade who had to rescue him some years ago. Another story, perhaps for another time...

The vet bills are always the problem, regardless of the animal, but of course, those of us with horses know you can't just chuck them in the back of the care and drive to the surgery! There's always the call out charge and that's before the vet has even got out of his posh Landrover!

    It's good to see you!

Did I mention that I won the Euro Millions on Friday? I have decided to throw it at my credit card debt, it’s not going to be a massive dent at 2.80, but I know it adds to the other tiny amounts and gradually whittles it away.I’ve also paid another 20.00 over, this came from eBay sales.
:j:rotfl::T well done on paying that to the debts....
Today I’m baking shortbread hearts for my man pet. He is taking me out to dinner tonight. As I’ve said he is kind and generous and much to my horror, very romantic. Unfortunately, I don’t have a romantic bone in my body and lovey dovey stuff makes me cringe. However, I have been practicing romance, but I’ve only got the cat available at the moment, so I’ve been putting on a sexy voice and seductively asking him if he’d like Champagne with his Whiskas. Not at all sure it’s working on a cat, as he’s gulped down the meal and bolted for the cat flap.

:D:D oh dear poor cat I think you've frightened him.........

Incidentally, the Whiskas is DFW, my man pet brings either a box of Whiskas pouches or a sack of carrots when he comes courting. I had to ask him to stop bringing chocolates each time he came over, as I was eating them! The blank look on his face was a picture!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:oh how I've missed you Piq! You've such a turn of phrase........

I will make an effort and have picked out a pretty blue dress to wear, it will look much better once I’ve ironed it. I’m a little worried about wearing heels. I’ve been out of work for a while now and either wear slippers or riding boots. I don’t know how many of you remember !!!!!! Emery, but I suspect I will remind a few folk of him as I totter across the restaurant.

Even !!!!!! looked great in high heels lady!

I have a poorly paid for a lot of work type of job to apply for today, I must apply for it as the closing date is the 17th. I rarely hear back on my applications, what happened to manners? Surely with email it is easy to send a template ‘thanks but no thanks’ mail. I hate the endless customising of my cv and the covering letter, it takes ages and it's so very disheartening to hear nothing at all. This is one of the reasons I want to change my career and work for myself, but that isn't easy either!

It's lunchtime so I'm off to lurk on other people's diaries now, perhaps I shall leap out and scare a few:)

    Piq

Manners went out a while back, they dress it up in efficiency but really its a lack of manners.

    Goodluck with the applications.

I did gwfaww at your chocolate exploits dear Piq - laughing with you obviously passing the stardrops, you poor thing!

Leaping out and scaring folk on their diaries is to be expected after all - its valentines day - or is it halloween I'm thinking of? Either way - I hope you had fun charging around.

Carrot for the captain (home grown, sorry I can't afford whiskas, but I'm sure the cat will understand)

How do you reward your man pet? Hobnobs? Aside from todays shortbread hearts.....................:T

Hi Piq - your image of Captain in leg wraps made me chuckle - can just imagine that. I have three horses at the moment, down from 4, although that doesn't seem to have made much difference to costs. I have a youngster who permanently seems to need visits from the vet - ughhhh. Just waiting for the bill for Xrays for him, thank goodness they were clear though!
Looking forward to some Captain sagas.
    Noo
PS Your human pet sounds like one in a million.

Noo, three horses! Wow, I am envious, although not of the costs :D
I have an outstanding bill, but just for a change it's only a small one for a blood test, he hasn't got Cushings disease, he's just hairy! To the non horsy friends, Cushings is something older horses get, something to do with their gland system I think. One of the symptoms is exceptional hair growth. Hmmm, my legs might have Cushings....

I hope your youngster is okay and remembers to be a frugal horse.

Yes, my human pet is turning out okay, not bad for an internet buy ;)

Pippi, I've got the high heels on and I'll be okay as long as I don't have a drink! Eat your heart out !!!!!!!

You've had a busy day haven't you? I was reading up on your neeps. That's one very good looking blog you have there. Do you take all the photos yourself?
