I have a very short attention span too and even worse, I get bored easily :o I hate wafflers and the ones that love the sound of their own voice, how do they get to the top? beats me...

gosh I don't know but what gets me is the ones who schedule 90 minutes call on a Friday. 90 minutes is a ridiculous amount of time, and then the have a presentation to boot. my office has an ensuite (as it is also a bedroom) and I can tell you the mute button has saved me many a time when an urgent wee has made itself known!

Boo to the door part - I finally washed the windows and patio door, am surprised they didn't fall in from the shock!

That stick on Garfield image made me laugh, so true, Mr A does that too either to get out when he's in or vice versa or just 'cos he can. His paw and nose smears are much of the reason the windows were mucky!

Hope your Sunday is going better x

Hello Piquant, just popped by to say Hello and to thank you for the many giggles I have had reading through your diary :). I've got two horses and three cats (along with a huuuuge dog and a chicken) so I particularly love your Captain and Bear stories.

Good luck with your job search, I'll keep popping by to check progress x

...and you are so welcome. Two horses! Lucky thing, obviously not from a financial point of view, but two.....jealous.....

I'd love a dog, but I need to work and there wouldn't be anyone at home for it during the day. If only I could find a way of working from home.

Please pop by, you know I'm loitering around on your diary!

Like that..your dad being all MSE and getting the free coffee!! Hope you get some too!!

He's not being mse, he's being a floozie ;) He's absolutely charming and the ladies love him, if I'm lucky I get a coffee, I tend to be somewhat insignificant next to him!

Have a lovely day. Sorry to hear about the door.will it cost a lot? And when you get the knock on the door saying you've won a million just make sure you still keep on posting:p

A million.....I promise I will host us all a weekend away in a spa hotel and keep us lubricated with plenty of wine, if I win!

The Bear runs on the window too, that makes some wonderfully muddy smears!

I didn't know that you could only save one item to list on eBay later. So out of the four I thought I'd saved yesterday, only one made it! I redid the other three listings, luckily I hadn't deleted the photos.

I have decided to treat eBay as a job and I'm going to spend an hour or so each day doing eBay things. We all know how much I hate doing it, but needs must and any money is better than none. I have sorted out a large pile of items to list over this week. I think I'm okay at coming up with a snappy title and a description that makes the item sound attractive. I already have bids on most of yesterday's items.

I did put some of my vintage dresses up, however, I didn't put them at rock bottom prices, but spent a bit of time writing up about how special they were and I'm pleased to say they have bids and quite a few watchers.

Man pet paid for my shopping, when I shot back to get the coffee I had forgotten to pick up. My weekly shop cost me £3.20! All he wants in return is Cauliflower Cheese for dinner one night this week. I am allowed to buy the cauliflower! Yesterday he turned up with a sack of carrots for the Captain and a packet of sliced roast chicken for the Bear. He was the best thing I ever bought on a web site.

I'm a bit fed up. That job I had such high hopes for has come crashing to the ground.

The recruitment chap called and said that the client wanted more experience in their field, meaning they want someone who has worked on brand and marketing in accountancy, not with the same skills gained in another sector. He appreciated my skills were fully transferable and that it is sometimes better to bring in new blood.

I can only keep going for another couple of months, money is so tight now. I'm trying not to feel down, because I just have to keep going, but it is hard.

I haven't got half way through my to-do list. I will make a day of it tomorrow. Including listing a couple of beautiful vintage dresses on eBay, it's criminal that I'm starting them off at 99p.

    Right, whinging Piq shut up!

Oh dear Piquant, sorry to hear this news. I was really hoping that you would find the perfect job, I guess you will just have to wait a little longer. I wish I could take your worry away but I can't. Haven't been on the thread at all this weekend as my sister took me to Bath for a surprise 'thank you' holiday ... (something I did for her in January). It was wonderful and a real treat to be grown up and pampered for a couple of days .... oh for the old lifestyle I used to live ... gone (just like my youth)!!
Anyway, chin up and all that .. I am so positive something good awaits you and I will carry on reading your wonderful thread ... don't stop!
    Sending you love

hi Piq sorry to hear about the door. That must have been a bit of a shock to say the least.

Well done on getting on with the listing. I must do this as well over here too.

I am sure that something will turn up soon. But don't forget about claiming for council tax benefit too

Morning Piq, what a great man pet you have. You must treat e*ay as a job. I have so many clothes, alot of them not so fab, but they are either too big, too small, or never suited me. I signed up for the £10 a day in April challange and I am going to go for it.

If you have trail size shampoos and the like, those seem to be going and even a once used tube of san tropez fake tan. (not joking)!

So right, to more interesting topics. Is Captain turned out all day? It's going to be cold. Will he wear a blanket? x
