My girl is seriously off her food too. She is eating her bikkies at night though. So long as she is drinking and having the odd sweetie she if fine. Maybe change Colins feeding time to late evening when its a bit cooler - I am sure he will let you know if he is starving!!
As for the flea treatment....I may be tempting fate here but.....why bother? My girl is a strumpet but has only ever brought 1 flea home. That was dealt with and she was checked for any evidence of it being hers. I would use it if she had a habit of getting fleas, but i dont like the idea of adding insecticide to her for no reason - go on, tell me off! Honestly, in 7 years there has only been 1 flea and that wasnt hers.
I should mention her daddy has had stern words with her about the company she keeps, the little hussy!

I wouldn't worry about Colin not eating, my Nash has barely eaten since the hot weather started, all he will touch are his Dreamies! the other two are still eating their pouches OK and all 3 are eating dried food through the night from their grazing bowl. Think the heat has put them all off their food.
Good LUCK with the new job *-smiles* and I do think its a good idea to move house. A mate of mine just sold up in Glastonbury and with profit made on house bought outright in Scotland and paid off all bills, so now she is mortgage free and with a new life in Scotland. Great idea! xx0 -
FAB news Piq...being poached..hey I knew it would happen;)
The house..sad I know but I am really glad you have made a decision to go (even though I know you will hate losing your garden) and its on your terms..
Best of luck with the decluttering and the stress of the move..do accept offers of help wont you

Congratulations on the job and all that but I am confused. I will explain, I am not having a go, but wanted to make sure you had covered all this.
You had the job at the coffee shop and couldn't do any more hours than that because of signing on? And because if you earned any more money your mortgage protection money would stop and you would be much worse off?
So now you have a new job and the gardening, and this earns enough for you to not have the coffee job ASWELL, and it won't affect your mortgage insurance? I wouldn't want you to get in the mire because your mortgage suddenly wasn't being paid, because you were earning too much.
I take it you haven't thought about taking this new job AND keeping the coffee shop job? Would all three little jobs earn you enough to get by on?
I am sure you have thought of all of this, but just in case....
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

My cat used to have six monthly flea injections.
So much easier than faffing about.
This is the route I will go down. Poor Colin is still holding the spot on remedy against me, it can only get worse!suzeesu As for the flea treatment....I may be tempting fate here but.....why bother? Colin has an allergy to flea bites he was covered in scabs and small bald patches when I got him due to being covered in bites when the RSPCA rescued him. My vet said I should always prevent fleas as it is likely the reaction will only get worse. So no money saving there!Greying_Pilgrim wrote: »

Morning dear chev *waves*
You are confused because I have at times been deliberately vague.
I am giving up the mortgage insurance payment as I can't claim it any longer. This new job is 35 hours a week. It does mean I will be financially worse off, but working within the rules of the land. It's not the money I earn that cause the problem but the hours. I really don't want to get into trouble which is why I'm going down this route, worry about it all has kept me awake for a very long time. It is hard to survive within the inflexible rules that exist in the benefit system.
I hadn't thought of keeping the coffee shop job on too, not a bad idea although it would mean working seven days a week or perhaps a few hours on alternate weeks. I'll run the idea past the manager when I hand my notice in tomorrow.
The gardening jobs will peter out as the Autumn arrives and be non-existent in the winter. I will keep painting pots and hope for a large commissionTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Nightmare evening trying to access t'interweb. Gave up in the end. Not sure if my router is on it's last legs. That alone should spur me on to changing providers. It will be a task for this morning as there will be no gardening in the storm for me! I'll also move the phone, probably back to BT and pay the year up front to save money.
I'm going along to the new job this afternoon to learn the ropes before I start. Really hoping they pay me for the time. I should find out how I'm paid as well, weekly, monthly, in kind.....
I won't be doing anything about moving just yet. I've decided to do it and will be decluttering, selling as much and as quickly as I can in preparation. The money I make will be for fees and expenses for the move. It would be nice if I could make enough to cover some of the repairs necessary. Perhaps I should ask an Estate Agent just how much I will lose if the repairs are not done.
I was going to list more on eb@y last night, photos ready, but no accessAnother job for this morning I think. One item listed on Sunday has a bid already, that 99p is really going to help :rotfl:

G'day Piq
Really happy to read your news of a full time job and that you've come to the decision to move to appease your own worries and as someone else said on your own terms.
I wish I could send husbandpet to you to help with the eb@y as he's managed to rack up just over £1,000 in sales these last 2 months and he's still going (we're decluttering). One tip that he has given is to put your pictures in your description via a hosting website (flickr etc) as you don't pay for any more pictures that way IYKWIM. He also uses turbolister and does a bulk listing then it's all fun and games when you synchronise it and see what's happened, it gives you how many watchers there are how many bids you've had and of course what price it's currently at and he also sends overseas.
Good luck with everything and I think that discussing it with your kids would be much better sooner rather than later and you never know they may just surprise you and offer to help out rather than feeling like you're nagging them :rotfl:.
Look forward to hearing more about what's happening with this new phase of your life.
