Got home, dashed to bathroom, (too much tea in our picnics:eek:), then of course went to see what has been happening in the garden while I was away (a whole 8 hours LOL), and find that a lovely Common Frog has taken up lodgings in my cold frame, not sure if he was the one that OH found in the Spring sitting on the rim of his bike wheel, he is very welcome, now have to keep the four legged one away from him.

I had a cat called Einstein before the Bear, he caught a frog once and couldn't spit it out quick enough, apparently they taste horrid :rotfl: Hopefully the four-legged one will leave him alone.

I was soaked through with sweat, even my hair was wet. I've started having fantasies about showers and baths :rotfl:Who needs men fantasies?

My own garden needs weeding, but I can't face the heat out there, having done other people's gardens. I will wait a while :D

I'm rifling through my clothes trying to find something cool and comfortable to wear for gardening, not as easy as you might think. My cut-offs have shrunk in the wardrobe, how does that happen? Think I'm going to have to wear a linen shirt with my loose linen trousers, else I'm going to evaporate sorting out my elderly gentleman's garden.

In other news Colin has bought home yet another cat! This one has followed him in the house and is very vocal. Colin is not bothered in the slightest. However, I'm sure it's not a stray, it is some sort of pedigree cat, long haired cream coloured, with dark brown points and blue eyes. A lot of it's hair has been clipped off, I assume it got matted. It is currently calling Colin out to play from the other side of the gate.

Is Colin some sort of cat hero? A cat pin-up? This is the cat that Cat's Protection said was a cat bully :rotfl:I think as he has settled down in a new home and is fed regularly [and often] that he doesn't feel the need to fight for his food, that's all.

I haven't seen Sooty the stray cat for a week, it has either found a better source of food or nature has got it. The poor thing wasn't looking that good last time I saw it. I had hoped I could gain it's trust and give it a home, doesn't look like that's meant to be.

'Tis a well known fact that clothes shrink in the wardrobe!

Possibly your kindness and generosity has rubbed off onto Colin and he is trying to do the same for others cats!!:A

Must be the hangers we use, perhaps there is some sort of reaction between the clothes and the hangers that causes shrinkage?

Colin's generosity uses my money :rotfl::rotfl: I don't mind for poor Sooty but the pedigree cat must belong to someone and they can feed it! It's not like Colin eats only a small amount of food, he is the original eating machine and can devour his own weight in biscuits in a sitting :rotfl:

I found this diary last week and am finally up todate!

I have been right at home here, having an ex as a jockey. I also had 3 cats (2 left this world suddenly a few months ago within weeks of each other) but I rescued another so I am back to 2 cats now.

I have been alternately laughing and crying at The Bear, Colin (and friends) and The Captain (and friends) antics, all the nice and nasty people along the way but most of your perseverance of trying to get yourself out of this rut.

I love the way you write (both you and *Robin*-thats how I found you)- i feel bereft now i have come to the end, like coming to the end of a good book.

As i was reading I fully expected you to have a full time job right now - but with so many twists and turns along the way I guess it wasnt meant to be.

Am loving the pots and you have spurred me on to plant those salad seeds tonight (the ones I bought about a month ago:o). Also next time I am at MIL garden to go and get a load of cuttings as my garden is rather bare (did have chickens but they had to be adopted by friends due to the clay soil where I live making everything a quagmire - the garden is still recovering)

    Have now subscribed :j

And mine! To make matters worse, there is an imposter riding my horse ... the mirrors round the arena tell me that she is fatter and older than I am, and has a worse lower leg position than I have - the cheek of it!!!
