oooh young lady, just wanted to pop in and give you a hug (((((((((((()))))))))) and tell you to stop being a sausage, you are great, of course :) Could you start by telling your friends what happened to you? It's really not a cause for shame you know (I *know* you know that really). What if it was one of them who had been made redundant? You'd want to support them, wouldn't you?

    Be kind to yourself xx

hello, a break over the weekend is good for the soul. Kisses to all equines and ear tickles for the felines.
Am swimming through treacle here - not clever so just popped in for a canter and a carrot.
Chin up all and Piq - you have earnt JSA money through the years in employment so stop with the guilt trip - the rest of the universe does a good enough job to pile guilt on us for all matters so no need for us to add to our load.

I needed that hug, thank you, I was feeling quite tearful whilst writing it - soppy date!

I'll tell friends eventually, I'll have to, people are beginning to question where I've got to.

Good advice, it's always difficult to take your own advice though. It would be so nice to get an interview though. I'll keep slogging on, it's what I do best!

Thank you again Cheery, it's lovely that you took the time to send me a hug.

My equine loves the kisses and actually puckers up his top lip to kiss you back. Mind you, you will need to brace yourself as sometimes his kisses are a bit hearty and very whiskery!

Sorry you're not feeling too clever, that makes two of us. Hopefully, you'll feel brighter once you're sure your tenant is going to behave and when you've had your well deserved break.

Of course I've paid for the JSA and I'm not taking the micky, it feels horrible that's all. If I wasn't so tired it might be easier.

Please go and have a dog snog for me, I miss not having a dog. However, the Bear does not, so we won't be having one any time soon!

Thank you for your kind words, very much appreciated.

Hello the Noo [been wanting to write that for a while!]

I headed up brand, marketing and design specialising in professional services type companies.

I'm not especially qualified, although I did get a fine arts degree from St Martin's school of Art. Basically, the creative side is what I love. Unfortunately, I came off a horse badly some years ago, leaving me with limited mobility in my hand, arm and shoulder. Meaning I can no longer draw or design for long periods of time.

I have been lucky enough to be able to string more than two words together in a vaguely articulate manner, so I moved to creative communications and blagged my way to the top! Unfortunately, there are not so many jobs up there. I have applied for more junior positions [I just want to work] but I'm not getting anywhere. My friend in recruitment says it is unlikely that a manager will take me on knowing I can do their job and more. They will feel threatened.

So not particularly qualified, more over experienced.

You don't need to read this post, it is for me and very boring!

I must write down everything I must do today, there is a lot and because I've taken it easy all weekend my mind is not in gear at all.

Today I must without exception do the following:

    • Read and set up file for job centre papers
    • check that tomorrow at 9:00am is sign-on day and get together evidence of job applications
    • pay car tax for six months - I do not want the money coming out of next month!
    • phone NW about closing card so I don't have to pay hiked interest charges
    • do my finances, not difficult as I didn't spend over the weekend
    • start mortgage payment insurance claim as paperwork is now in
    • pay vet bill

I haven't achieved everything, the mortgage claim will be done tomorrow, too much paperwork to find.

Everything else is done! Just as well I checked for signing on day as it's not tomorrow it's Wednesday :o

Great result from phoning Nat West to cancel my card. They'd hiked the interest rate from 18.32% to 22.47%. I don't use the card anymore and thanks to this site I know that as long as you don't spend you can refuse the increase. I got put through to another call centre where they have reduced my interest to 9.9% for six months :T This is because I am a valued customer, couldn't you tell?

It is unlikely, unless I get a job that I will be able to clear it entirely, but it is quite a drop.

Oh, thats a bit gutting about the art. What about working as a lecturer either in business or Art?

I don't think I'd do well in the business side of lecturing, I've always been a little unorthodox in my ways of getting things done. I think you would have to have some sort of business qualification to be considered.

I don't know enough about art to lecture and to be honest I don't think I'd enjoy it very much.

Tomorrow is another day. I'll chase up applications and contact some recruiters I've built relationships with to see if they have anything new on their books.

I may run through my Linkedin contacts and see what companies they're working for and drop them a line to see what vacancies are being advertised internally. This will depend on how I feel as a lot of these contact don't know I'm out of work.

Please go and sign on. It is your money. I really hate it when people who deserve it don't claim.
