    Hi Noo

It was brave of you to ask about voluntary redundancy. I know I'm being a bit thick here, but if the payment isn't capped at one week per year worked, doesn't that mean you'll get more than the basic payout?

Hi Piq, yes it would mean my weekly salary x 16 (the number of years I have worked for the company). It adds a fair bit more, but still a little disappointing. The company is doing very well and this is purely about re-structuring so decided it was worth asking for more :D. We let you know the outcome.

Pity it's not months! That's the formula some companies use..but I guess it depends how mean they want to be and/or how much they want this to go through.

Do U have a Plan B or will you just use it to take stock?

hi Piq, i don't really read magazines but i'm sure you can get some from the library, even if you have to sit in there to read them. They may be old but you can still study them

If they're doing well, they may offer a bit more as you're offering to make their life easier. Don't forget you'll get any holiday you're owed, start saving it up. If there is a bonus scheme you can still be paid a percentage of this too.

Ah yes, he only weighs a frail 7kg.... I must feed him more, six pouches is not enough for any moggy.

It's really difficult to get the carpet to lay flat now, thanks Bear!

    Falsely imprisoned, hmmm...:rotfl::rotfl:

Wooden floors would be lovely, but at the moment they're on the dream list. Until I clear the debt and get a job, tatty carpet stays. I might sell the Bear on eBay as it's free listings....;)

I don't seem to have stopped this morning but don't have a lot to show for it. If anything the house looks untidier than it did first thing.

    Today I have:
    • dropped my favourite mixing bowl on the floor - it did not survive, but made the most almighty mess in it's passing
    • swept, vacuumed and cleaned the floor, sudden decision...
    • cleaned the living room carpet - the Bear decided that was the best place to yak up
    • bought a lottery ticket for tonight :o - naughty
    • got locked out of my online banking - phoned the help desk to be told it was all their fault, server problems, have to wait until this evening to get back in
    • done the ironing - discovered bird poo on two tops, only after I'd nearly finished ironing them!
    • applied for a job - have got a semi-coherent automated response from someone saying I've been recommended For what? What next?
    • joined a survey site that keeps filtering me out
    • paid off £50 extra on my cc
    • made a loaf in the bread-maker
    • schooled the Captain - I did more exercise than him, he just kept running to the corner to chat to the mare in the next paddock, then when I chased him, ran to the other end of the school to chat to the chickens:rotfl:meanwhile I'm running up and down through thick sand to move him on. Legs have had a great workout..
