    Hello Marie

Brilliant idea, thank you! I've spent most the morning looking into on-line magazines. I haven't found one yet, but there's a huge amount out there.

Please come by with more ideas, very much appreciated.

This morning I have tried to spend some of my time researching magazines, both print and online. It is a lovely day now the fog has cleared, so I've opened some windows.

I work at the end of the breakfast bar in the kitchen, it's my favourite room in the house and sun shines in during the morning .I became aware of a lot of noise coming from the back of the house, eventually, I realised it was not an ordinary noise and went off to investigate. To be greeted by the sight of the Bear in the sitting-room leaping acrobatically from sofa to bookcase. Already tipped over was the small table and a vase of daffodils, water pooling nicely into the newish carpet.

A tiny blue tit was sitting on the high windowsill, absolutely terrified. It must have fallen in through the open window as
last seen the Bear had been asleep on my bed, I knew he hadn't been out for hours, so couldn't have brought the bird in.

I didn't know the Bear could move so fast, he is not small. I had to do a ladies equivalent of a rugby tackle to bring him down, scoop him up and shut him in a bedroom, remembering to shut the door to the sitting-room, really didn't want the bird any further in the house!

The poor little thing was so frightened I thought it might just keel over and die, all I could do was open the outside door and hope it had the sense to fly out. I just left it for half and hour, when I went back in the bird was gone. There was no body in the immediate vicinity, so I think it's okay.

In the meantime, the Bear has ripped up the edge of the bedroom carpet in his endeavor to escape, whilst yowling at the top of his voice to let the neighbours know how ill treated he is, and I can't open the door...The only thing to do was to throw a shoulder at the door, like they do in the films [they don't howl in agony in the films] as the door gave I fell into the room narrowly missing the cast iron edge of the bed with my head.

Naturally, the Bear has shot downstairs to find out where his freshly delivered meal is. Gone. He is still prowling round the house and sitting-room, he is very pointedly keeping his back turned to me at all times...

I've had my credit card statements through and I have now paid off over £45k of debt, what a lot of money wasted.

I've thrown another £60 at the cards, I may pay more, it all depends on how the rest of the month goes. I have a fair bit of copper shrapnel to bag up and pay in, can't be bothered at the moment though:o

Although I've had no written confirmation that I have been accepted for JSA a payment of £57.86 has landed in my account. What's the 86p for? Strange amount, why isn't it a round figure?

All the utilities are going up this year, no surprises there and my car tax is due at the end of the month. I will only be paying it for six months. I've also got a small vet bill for the Captain to pay.

It's DS2's birthday tomorrow, I've baked him a chocolate cake, the smell is driving me mad. I'll take it round to him later, as he's working all day tomorrow. I'll ask if he knows of anyone that has any work going, he seems to know a lot of people and likes to look after his mum!

No jobs on the boards today. I was turned down for the local one as I don't have any experience in print and packaging, mind you the agency turned me down. I've done countless searches trying to identify the end company but am hitting a blank. Perhaps they're not advertising directly on their own site.

    Hiya One and All

What an amazing day! I have just been out for a walk to A*da, no jacket and was quite hot under the collar when I returned.

Had my first meeting re the re-structuring a work on Tuesday, not a great meeting, it left me feeling very low. However I have decided that I am going to walk so this makes things easier. In the meeting they said that redundancy was 1 week per year you have worked, but they don't cap it at the government rate. That wasn't great news, so bit the bullet and went in to see my boss today and laid it on the line about voluntary redundancy and that it would be great if they let me go with a smile on my face! Will wait and see what they come back with.

Hope everyone is having a positive day, catch up soon.

    Hi Piq

Good to hear that the bluetit got away! Once, many years ago our cat got all the robin fledglings from the nest under the kitchen window..it happened when we were out... ( robins tend not to fly when they leave the nest:eek:) and it was still one of the saddest things to see. Luckily he is now a very old man and doesn't catch anything! :D

Does sound like you have JSA..not a lot but it will help. Do ask around for work..my last few roles have all been recommendations rather than answering advert iyswim.

Noonar..well done for taking the plunge and asking. At least this way you have options and know what you could be weighing up.

Wish we had the sun here! Still grey and foggy looking..no change from the morning really

Looking forward to the evening though and snuggling in to watch a movie with my DDs!!

    Hi Noo

It was brave of you to ask about voluntary redundancy. I know I'm being a bit thick here, but if the payment isn't capped at one week per year worked, doesn't that mean you'll get more than the basic payout?

Mrs B! lovely to see you again!

My son loved his chocolate and vanilla cake, I have to be honest, I was sorry to see it go...

He didn't know of anyone that might need someone of my dubious talents, which is a pity, he did say he'd ask around for me.

The killing of birds is the downside of cats, unfortunately. I can't get a collar on the Bear, well, not without losing an arm. I tried when I got him and decided that it would be a good sport for people that like taking extreme risks. I didn't know until then how fast cats can somersault

    Hi Piq :j :j

Jut skimming through as I've just come back from a mini-holidays! :j

Hooray for the job centre giving you money, and you knowing what to write about for your assignment - just wanted to say - LIBRARIES!!! Mine has a whole shelf of magazines, hundreds of the darn things (including ones about writing, and publishing, and being a writer, as well as ones to investigate writing for that you will have never heard of!) - get yourself down there! Mine is a big city one, so even if your local one doesn't do it, a nearby city might, and the bus fare will probably be less than the cost of one magazine

    :j :j

(sorry, carry on as you were, I'll go back to trying to unpack)

    :p

Hello Cheery, I was thinking of you earlier and wondering where you'd got to while I was topping up the water in my jug of daffodils, they are just perfect, cheerful and yellow!

Where did you go for your mini hol?

The library! Of course! I was so involved with the reference books I forgot the real thing - duh....Thank you!

    Glad you're back.

Loving the cat stories - we have 2 rodent murdering purr balls. They take a few feathered creatures too. They have even been known to give a reptile a good run for it money, but they definitely prefer fur.
