Re the magazines..well I can probably help..I used to like them..too many train journeys...but now am trying to be MSE so only subscribe to one. Red. I usually hand on old copies to my neighbour..but can send you one if you like. Just PM me your address. to my mind, with the demise of Eve, it's the best one to try for. They have twitter accounts and quite a big online presence etc so may be worth trying to get in touch anyway. It does have celebrity interviews..this month it's Claire Danes but its not gossip.
Theres a real dearth of sensible magazines I think..maybe we should all start one!!!! Go into business together!! Am sure we could find the full range of skillsets on these diary threads!
Speak soon x
Dearest Brizzle - How are you? I haven't had a chance to catch up on your diary yet, I hope you are on the mend.
Thank you! I'll pm you my details later. I'd very much appreciate a copy of Red. One of the first things to go when I started clearing the debts was the magazine subscriptions and the buying of them on a whim. I haven't missed them up until now. I picked up Woman & Home thinking it was the ideal magazine to write for and nearly passed out at the price of it £3.70:eek:
It would be fun to do our own magazine, but I suspect Martin Lewis might have something to say about it!

Hello, I am a former New Forester as well - now relocated along
Very sad news from NF today, Tabitha the last remaining "family" pet has passed away. She developed diabetes, a UTI and kidney failure in the past 2 days and did not respond to treatment so at the age of 18 or possibly 19 (we can't remember exactly) Mum had to do the dutiful.
RIP Tabby - we will miss you scolding the birds when they fly past the window and into the hedge disturbing your slumber in the sun on the windowsill.
Oh Missrir, how sad, poor you and your Mum, you will both miss Tabitha. Our animals give us so much and ask for so little in return.
Bless you Tabitha.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Woman and Home would have been an obvious one
. I agree with Red. Shame you're not over 50 as Saga and Yours spring to mind.
Easy Living
Prima
Zest or maybe Top Sante (focusing on staying fit, focused, motivated, eating healthily on a limited budget)
The Lady
My Weekly
Weekly News
More downmarket - Bella, Take a Break, Chat etc
Money Observer & Moneywise - on budgeting, planning etc.
Aha -- national newspaper magazines. Take your pick - any would be suitable and you could tailor accordingly:
Sun - looking for work leaves me no time for shopping and sex, but JC is a good pick up joint
Times/Telegraph - impact of recession & the JC on intelligent, middle class workers
Guardian - surviving unemployment by knitting my own yogurt
Indie or i - looking for alternative means of employment/self employment
Mail - immigrants stole my job and shove me out of my queue in the JC.
Express - I saw Diana in the JC
etc
Still spluttering with laughter here Gally at your headlines. I think my favourite has to be the Guardian!
I had got Prima on my earmarked list along with Essentials. The problem is paying out for all of them, I cannot believe a magazine can cost nearly £4. If I was working, I wouldn't have a problem, but I'm living on the tightest of shoestrings at the moment.
I might look up Saga, as I used to know someone who worked there on the cruise side of things [and how do you know I'm not pushing 50?;)]
Thank you, your input is invaluable. Keep popping by.

How come I've not found your diary earlier?
Bang goes the housework...

Hurrah and hello miggy!
I don't know why you've not found the diary, doesn't it give off a certain equine aroma? The OS board are waiting for the Stardrops delivery and will then be over in a group for a flylady session. Wish them luck trying to clean the Captain...
Thank you for the link, I have been looking at it and taking away quite a bit of information. A lot of the thread is about writing romantic fiction. If you've got anywhere in my diary, you'll realise this is not an area I'm very good at, as my man pet will testify.
Pop in for carrots, cat food and cake anytime you like, it is a fairly cheerful place here!

Memory Girl on Matrix thread may be able to help - she has had magazine articles published recently - worth a pm ??
Thanks Igamogam [that is an amazing name, how did you come by it?]
I will introduce myself to Memory Girl and see if she has any pointers for me. I feel a bit embarrassed about just dropping in, hopefully, she won't mind.

Zig-Zag? Okay... but I'll be sticking with my original picture of you being a warrior, I think Igamogam is such a wonderful name and knowing that you're a Welsh warrior to boot....
I love Wales, one of my dearest friends is Welsh and I love visiting him, Wales is so beautiful.
