Hi Piquant,
I have been lurking for ages but have read all of your diary. I love your writing style, outlook on life and the Capatin stories!!
I have just read the Llama one and couldn't stop laughing. The image of an indignant Captain streaming off into the distance covered in green Llama spittle is soooo funny!! I had to tell my OH and he laughed too. I was bought up around animals and understand how funny and mischeivious they are!
We don't have any at the minute but there is many a tale about Tango, our neighbours cat, who thinks that she is a lion that I can regale you with! Unlike Captain she is fearless and puffs her self up to hiss and spit at dogs, had a good go at a stray ferret that appeared out of nowhere, climbs everything and often forms a feline island if a spot in the middle of the road takes her fancy and no she will NOT move we all have to drive around her :rotfl:
She is very bright and spends a lot of time trying to outwit the humans by finding ways to sneak unnoticed into a nice warm house, but she is preoccupied at the moment as someone new to the area has moved in with six cats.:eek:
So she is busy trying to reinforce the half mile terratory boundary that she feels surrounds her house. For the last two days she has commandered an old plant pot on her front garden and launches out of it about every hour or so to 'explain' to an unfortunate feline that they are trespassing or at least that is what I think all the yowling, hissing and spitting translates as! She keeps me amused anyway!!
Sorry to have taken over on a ramble. Just thought I would pop in!

Hello mychancetoshine, stop lurking and join in!!
You've read the whole thing? A glutton for punishment then?
The llama story is an old one, I keep meaning to write up some of the others, my favourite is the Captain and the yard know-it-all. I will do it soon.
I love the idea of the cat commandeering the plant pot to keep her neighbourhood under control, she's probably a General in the cat world! After-all six new cats will need knocking into shape and they will need to understand who owns the territory...
My cat, the Bear, took on a Staffie and won, the dog was left trembling in a corner, with his owner asking me to call my cat off
Please come and join us, it's a real menagerie of people and pets on here...

loving the cat stories, i'm not sure how my two girls will cope when they move house, guess it'll be a couple of weeks before they're allowed out to test the waters and see how owns which humans. It's all a game of cat chess if you watc them closely enough.0

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about the having to keep them in for a month. The remembering to shut every door behind you.
You never realise until you have one, that a cat, no matter how large, can fit through a one inch opening in a window or a door!

I've got to admit to being a little disappointed. I had hopes of being able to say I know a siren...a woman irresistible to men...oh well, can't check that one off yet!

Morning Brizzle!
I'll do my best to treat the Job Centre as research, not sure that recording any conversations for accuracy is going to win me any friends or jobs though!
I was looking for your diary yesterday, I know I've seen it, expect me to pop up in it sometime soon....

No!! ...and llamas are not up there with cute fluffy kittens either!
How are you cleggie, I still lurk on your diary, and on the grocery challenge. I have signed up for the GC and am doing quite well so far, although if you use up everything, sooner or later, you will have to do a massive shop to stock up again...
