After all I am new at the job centre and don't know all the protocols yet.

    Hi Piq,
just been catching up - lots of lovely, funny horse stories - they all sound such characters.

Hope something works out soon on the job front, its very dispiriting to hear nothing back - like sending your CV into a blackhole :p

Your job centre adventure reminded me of my foray into that foreign land, the first time I went I obviously didn't know the rules and that you took a number from a machine and then sat for hours until your number was called. When someone left the counter I sailed blithely up without having taken a number and effectively, unknowingly looked like I was skipping the queue. Created such a stushie I was fair affronted and as it was in Tottenham quite a dangerous thing to do :rotfl: I soon learned the rules though!

Glad you were able to send off your first assignment - wonder how long until you get some feedback, I imagine its exciting but nervewracking too.

My tall cat Mr A has been poorly and sick a lot, am hoping its maybe 'just' fur sausages irritating his tummy as he's so long haired. He hadn't been sick since Monday but then chucked this morning :(. Hes been to the vet but she couldn't find anything wrong. I'm keeping a vomit diary for him, thats the extent of my creative writing :rotfl:

I might join you in the window cleaning experiment as ours are shocking, I was going to do them this weekend as the forecast was good but its blooming freezing and very windy so don't think so. Might get a chance next week as I've hardly any work  - not good.

Leek and potato pie yummy, cheese and potato pie also yummy. Have a good eve with man pet, sorry, have waffled on a bit :o

i hate to say it but i'd guess that my windows have gone in excess of 6 month since their last clean which was probably when we first put our place on the market. hope your lesson went well and you have a lovely time with Man pet.

Hello Teapot  Lovely to see you!

The Job Centre protocol is not explained at all. I am in the yellow team. Yes, we are put in teams...and you have to put your little trying to find work diary in a cardboard box, that's on the end of a random desk. How you're supposed to know that it's a special box and not just some rubbish is not part of the breaking in procedure.

A vomit diary....nice....Poor, poor tall cat. I hope he feels better soon and it just hair balls, yuk! Grooming the Bear is always exciting as he attacks the brush with teeth and claws, he's only a short hair, so not too bad, once he's got over the wrestling stage and the brush has admitted defeat!

I didn't get any raspberries they were too expensive, I've made some tiny thin biscuits instead.

Don't stay away so long Teapot!

As you're moving you won't need to clean them now! Lucky girl! I hate cleaning windows, in reality I hate housework, it never goes away.

I am still red in the face from exertion from our lesson, we worked very hard, the sweat was pouring off both of us. Not pretty. We both needed the lesson though so it was good for us.

I am too large, I am going to lose some weight, just a stone to start with. I've put on a lot since I've been unemployed and it's showing. This means I will need a lot of encouragement and a diet buddy....

Sorry been MIA with an ear infection that is making me feel rotten :(

Loving all the horse tails :D I never did any dressage but love to watch it, so beautiful. Although I have to say seeing Camels doing it at Olympia a few years back does take some beating, their flying changes were just wonderful & I laughed until I was sore.

Only you could get the job centre meeting cut short and get a story out of it - fantastic!

Meant to say, Multi quoting is easy.

To the right of the quote button is a button with orange and pink on it, when you click it it changes to a white tick. When you have selected all the posts you want to quote (Think it is a max of 4), click reply to thread and they are all there for you :D

i'll be your diet buddy Piq though i'm not good at dieting, attested to by the size i am.

moving so you don't have to wash your windows does seem a bit extreme but it works lol not sure it's worth the stress to be honest and there will be lots more windows at the new place so the cunning plan has a fatal flaw lol

    Hi All!

We have had another day of wonderful weather - hope you all have too.

I took the eldest DD to a horse show this pm, only because we needed to get her video'd for her AS Level PE, but it was lovely and the classes were quite small, we brought home 2 second place rosettes, so a good time had by all.

Piq - I will diet alongside you and any one else who joins in, I still have quite a way to go, so could be with you a looooonnnnnng time!

I think a nice glass of wine is in order - got the hump with my Old Man, so it might be two!

    ....The secret diet club......

No need to worry ladies, I have been on diet for about 30 years and have successfully lost three stone and put on three stone one pound. I am the classic yo-yo dieter!

However, this time I'd like to lose the weight for the Captain, as he gets older he'll struggle carting me around, sooooo, I'll try to do it in half stone lumps. It's far too daunting to contemplate the whole lot. I'd also like to keep this separate from the debt clearing and job finding. I don't want to throw the towel in on everything if I'm not doing to well on the diet.

I'll put a 0/7 in my signature and see how I do. I have started now! 18:20 on Sunday evening.

You poor old thing, ear-ache is incredibly painful and makes it impossible to think of anything else. Have you got anti-biotics?

I've seen the camel doing dressage with the horse on youtube, it's quite something to behold, the camel looks so snooty. I know, for a fact, that the Captain would have won the Grand National with the speed he left the arena if you put a camel in with him. He went very fast when he met a llama, that story is somewhere on my old diary, I'll copy and paste it across if you like.

I have to go back to the Job Centre on Tuesday:(
