Well done on being outstanding, and oh dear re a team leader with zero people skills. Such things happen too often.
There is such a lift to the spirits in making something beautiful from nothing, as with papier - mache. I used to run an activities club for people of all abilities, inc. learning difficulties, and papier mache was a popular choice as an activity. I liked it as it took up three weeks of activity and was relatively very cheap - one week for papier mache, one week for painting and one week for varnishing.
I still have one of the little bowls I made for holding "kipple", and had a lovely blue and gold tray for years. The largest thing I made was a waste -paper bin, that also lasted years.

boo hiss to the numpty line manager with a voice and no practical skills. Who put the damn toaster on and as they clearly heard it why did they not do something about it? And if it is that much of a drama then they need a toaster with an auto off function don't they Grrrrr

Fence and pots sounds lovely and very pretty. My garden is a blinking mess .... zero colour and total bereft of any nicety at all.

Keep going and glad the migraine was stopped.

What a lot is going on chez Piq. I know exactly what you mean about getting to a migraine before it really gets going. I rarely have the full blown thing now but could be in bed for 2 days when I first had them.

If you're getting the rewards for your people skills why are'nt you getting the promotions? Humph... not that you'd want them I daresay what with the pots and geckos afoot. Your secluded front garden sounds heavenly. I love my sage and thyme flowering together and so covered with bees that there's a low hum.. Roll on summer.

    Breaking News......

I have not one but two small gardening jobs!!!:j:j

Both for more mature gardeners who are finding things a little difficult with weeding and cutting the grass. Fortunately, both clients own their own lawnmowers - phew!

Saw my mum and dad this morning and mum very kindly bought me some lemon pansies for my pots. I will attempt to post a picture in a minute. Includes the tiny chicken pot which I've had an order for. So this afternoon was spent preparing the second chicken pot!

Oh and I won a prize in a competition, spurred on by NewLeaf I entered a few a while ago and this morning three months supply of some sort of cholesterol taming tablet have arrived:T I don't remember thinking at any time, what a useful tablet, shame I can't afford them, I'll enter a competition instead.....apparently they're worth about £90 :D

On the bad news front, dear sweet Colin is a murderer  He's been chucking a rodent around the garden for ages. Not only is he a murderer but he is a garden vandal as he has leapt into my tub of tulips, just budding, and squashed the lot  He's disappeared off with the body now, no doubt upset that I wasn't as thrilled with it as he is. The Bear was a prolific serial killer, I've always been pleased that the FBI weren't aware of him....

Here is the blue potting bench, complete with a few pots and my favourite orange watering can!

They look perfect, thank you! I shall order some red ones, it will be nice for my gecko to see the world. I have already started the next one. Hopefully, he will be better as in theory I know what I am doing now :rotfl:

It's been years since I got a full blown migraine too. The warning lights still wipe me out though. However, today I'm fine. I think it was stress over the team leaders appalling manners and the heat of the place. Not a good combination at all.

I do like my garden, it's a bit run down, with the fences precariously leaning and the rendering coming off the walls. However there are scented roses, honeysuckle and herbs dotted around it. I have several different colours of thyme and sage, so pretty and as you say, a magnet for bees and butterflies. I also grow rosemary for the smell of it. I read today that rosemary is proven very useful for memory. Funny how so many of the old wives tales are turning out to be true.

What great news on the gardening jobs Piq - well done.

The pots look lovely and they're bound to generate lots of interest. I have Rosemary planted by the front door - it's supposed to bring good luck.

Congratulations on the gardening jobs. I hope they are the start of a profitable business, and mean you can leave [STRIKE]Prats[/STRIKE] Pr£t behind.

I love the painted pots. So cute!! I wish I was so creative.

Well done on the gardening jobs!

    Loving the pots also!

I had a lively camp cat called Charlie (RIP) and he loved all little animals like a child loves a dolly.

He would play with them for hours even holding them by their tail on the grass with one paw and stroking it with the other.
It was inevitable that in all the excitement that he would kill it - usually by accidentally rolling on it and the look of shock on his face when it no longer 'played' was just comical :rotfl:

Then there was the time he found a baby bunny and brought it into the utility room and put it in his bed :rotfl:. It was pretty gorgeous and he loved snuggling with it til we took it off him and put it in the field at the bottom of the garden.
5 minutes later it was back in his bed :rotfl:
I sent the kids to the end of the field with it - about 15 mins walk away and they let it go. Luckily he never brought it back.

    God I miss him :(
