Oh Piq sorry you are feeling a bit bruised and battered. Is there anyway you can go back to the job centre and show them the feedback and get them to pay for course to update your knowledge? Could be worth a shot?
Also re captain ginger ? Cheap from ethnic supermarkets? Or white willow if there are any trees of it near you. Lop a bit off and feed it to him has the natural form of aspirin in it.

Oh Piq, work sounds completely rubbish, no wonder you are fed up.
Its amazing how the knock backs can affect us particularly when we are already feeling battered and bruised. My confidence took a huge knock last week as you know when I couldnt even get them to look at my CV but just dismissed me upon one phone call. I wonder if there is anything else locally, would office / PA work suit you, it might be less exhausting and cold ?
Insomnia, is my speciality subject, although I have yet to crack the cure. Kalms Nightime sometimes work, I take them when I wake at silly o clock rather than at bedtime itself, hot bath, lavender smelly stuff on the pillow. Generally though I get up, iron, clean, drink horlicks, go online, read up about all manner of random things and eventually at about 6.30am I am ready for my bed again. Its not healthy. Once in the spiral I think its very hard to shake. x
Sending you lots of love and hugs, Im not sure what else to say x:(LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hi Piq
I find that audio books played on my iPhone - sit it on side of bed and set it on a timer on loud speaker - helped a great deal when I suffered from the inability to sleep several years ago. Listening to a story read out to me stopped my mind racing and eased me off to sleep. Give that a try. Audible (an Amazon company) currently have an offer on of first month free (7.99 thereafter for 1 credit a month - 1 credit, 1 book) so you could take the trial, get a free audio book, listen through the night to calm your mind, take your brain away from worries etc. Then cancel as I know money is tight, but at least you'd get one book to cover you for the next month or so for free.
Hope things get better soon, you so deserve a break girl xx0 -

I listen to the world service when I can't sleep and a friend listens to Irish radio. She says it sounds like words, but as she doesn't speak irish, she can't get interested in the programme!0
