Morning, excellent re the night out and ROFL re the cat and ear wax
Go barefoot, Baldrick used to have shoes for years but kept losing the darn things so farrier ended up visitng every 2/3 weeks, darn him, so took decision to go barefoot, bit sore first of all but soon hardened up, was always a tad sore the day or so after a trim but worked out well. We did hacking with about 20 mins roadwork and some of the hacking on hardcore surfaces and he and the others were fine.
Am intending to keep Phi barefoot if I can, as its only £20 and during winter every 8 weeksDebt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!
Mortgage 13-1-25 - £63K

I'll think about it, first I'll talk to the farrier and yard manager. See what they think, both of them know the Captain well.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Not a lot to report today. A NSD, but in a way I've cheated as I'm saving all the spends for tomorrow to get them out the way and only lose one NSD
I suppose the self control is a good thing though...
Tomorrow I will be buying:- Colin a slim ball to help with his diet and exercise
- Colin some better quality cat food to help with his diet - luckily I have a 10% voucher for this
- The Captain a sack of old git feed
- The car a tank of fuel
- me a carton of milk

Well Doglet is driving me mad, or at least attempting to deafen me barking at all the whizzy bangs round here. Ban the sale of fireworks to Joe Public I say , they are a blinking nuisance and the brats get hold of them to terrorise the populous with even during the day, little so and so's. grump harrumph.
Glad the self control chip is in order, want to lend it to me please? Just a word of warning, I bought a whole lot of fr0ntline online, and Doglet had ishews with it, ended up in vets and the batch had been recalled!!,! Poorly dog and waste of money, so be wary ...
Yes, Doglet also manages to acquire the throw or duvet or similar, how a 10 inch at the shoulder JRT achieves this I do to know!!,MStart info Dec11

I've put an electric blanket on my Christmas list this year - although I'm not sure I'll get any benefit either. The Fortunate Cat manages to hog the hot water bottle now so will probably just spread out more to hog the blanket! They know how to live cats :rotfl:

Poor doglet, I do like to watch the organised large displays of fireworks, but hate the uncontrolled and random fireworks of the neighbours...Glad the self control chip is in order, want to lend it to me please? I've got the Fr0ntline combo, the Bear was okay with it and Colin seems okay, well, no fleas....Yes, Doglet also manages to acquire the throw or duvet or similar, how a 10 inch at the shoulder JRT achieves this I do to know!!,MTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I've always had an electric blanket, but mine broke at the end of last winterI'm not sure I can manage without one until Christmas
I like the fitted ones, but may have to compromise with a tie-on one that moves all over the bed!
I'm not sure how long the hot water bottle is going to survive. Colin loves it so much and marches on the spot on the hottie, purring loudly. I mean marches, no gentle kneading here, a military march on the spot. It is very funny to watch.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I love my hotwater bottle. My feet are always freezing but we just put our 13.5 tog duvet on and I was boiling in the night! I know I wont be saying that come Christmas time.
My dog was also running around the house barking his head off - better than being terrified though. My poor little dog before used to hate the things.
have a good day - which 'old git feed'does captain have? My old chap just gets same as girls but I have added micronised linseed because of joint and feet problems but I always wonder if I should be giving him summat else?
I know what you mean about shoes - I feel same about my fella - bad time at the moment with wet muddy ground anyways. Maybe next year if he is going to go into permanent retirement.

I used to feed to the oldest git known a The Ginger Ninja (TGN) standard pony mix with a bit of beet and a pink powder sized scoop of veteran formula as I read both packets and realised that the contents were the same (within a percent tolerance) and the feeding ratios were WILDLY difference, as were the prices so I figured if the normal ones get titchy pink powder scoop and then all of a sudden when they are "old' the next day they get a BIG scoop (or two) then someone was having a laugh!
TGN didn't like oil - he would boot the feed all over the place and create like a good 'un if you tried even a driplet of it near the bucket - swear he had x-ray eyes! Haylage was the biggest difference maker to him, if I fed hay is made a huge difference to the stride length and joint motion.
The one thing he did munch on incessantly was white willow and also after his dreadful accident curcumin or tumeric (I used to buy HUGE quantities of the stuff from the local ethnic supermarket cheap as chips) which resolved the swelling that even the strongest NSAIDs from the vet could not. I reckon that gave him an extra 2 years just on its own. And it was far and away cheaper than pink powder or veteran formula! Oddly TGN ate it .... but not the oil!Start info Dec11

Our local fire service does ( or did) a new for old replacement for electric blankets ( and chip pans/fat fryers I think) part of their home safety advice programme - smoke alarms and the like. All free as far as I know. I havent used the service but a couple of friends have and like they say a guaranteed visit from a fireman with out the need of a fire :rotfl::rotfl:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
