Thanks, all. I have tried to explain to catto about all his virtual friendly well-wishers, and he is now snuggling on my lap, looking at the screen, and purring. xx
Piq, terrific news about the diminishing debt. And totally understand about your priorities! Some things you just have to do, as they are priceless (sadly not literally, though).0 -

Amazing Debt Busting News Piq, I'm soooo pleased for you ! :T
Personally I can totally understand why you spent the money you did on the Bears Cremation rather than the cardis. It was important to you and thats that in my books.
I bought some lovely cheap cardis in Ge£rge last winter having embarassingly never contemplated looking there before

Actually I've seen a warm chunky cardi in T£sco for £12, I'll have another look and if it's going to keep me warm during the winter and save on the heating, it's mine! I was also thinking about some fluffy sheepskin slippers.....I know you're all thinking 'how much more glamorous can this woman get?' I do get very cold feet in the winter, particularly after spending any time sorting out a horse in the depths of winter. Once my feet are cold, the rest of me is and it is so difficult to get them warm again or sleep.
I am determined to save money on the heating somehow. I've swapped suppliers and got the fixed rate and saved about £200 a year.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Lucky you that your mum has okay taste in cardies....I'd be borderline shall I wear it or not if it was one of my mum's cast-offs. She's been wearing cardies normally only seen on a 101 year old for years now :rotfl:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
