Hello and welcome! Keith? Barry? :rotfl:If Colin didn't come scampering down the hall when I called him, I might have changed it, but with his mouth open he looks like he's laughing at his name too. I'm not looking forward to calling him in. Goodness knows what everyone will think....[/QUOTE]

Morning, love this, used to get strange looks with Baldrick, used to call him Baldy and when OH was in field too, which shall I say he his follicly challenged, has some but not a lot, get some very odd looks :rotfl:

Well that's a new one on me - never heard of a cat eating Basil! Love the pics - the armchair one looks as though Colin's about to take on a round of Mastermind.

:rotfl::rotfl:Not sure that he would qualify. He plays with a little ball up and down the hall for ages at a time. He also has a very little squeaky mew. Bearing in mind how pretty he is, perhaps he should have been named after a certain footballer....

  • Maybe you could find a more "catty" name which sounds a bit like Colin ... and sort of change it gradually? Are you sure it's the name he's responding to, or just the tone of your voice when you call him?
Maybe the basil-eating does imply he has Italian blood. Hopefully not a Mafioso catto. Catalino?
PS Quite agree about the karaoke ...... good luck on finding an alternative. Sounds like a grim night out otherwise!

Apart from calling him Colinetto I think he's going to remain Colin. I've just about got used to it now and have told everyone that's his name :o He'll never be a Mafioso catto, much too soppy with his squeaky little voice, The Bear would have worn the title El Don with pride!

Funny about animal voices: my old horse (sadly now departed) was handsome and chunky - he had the tiniest, reediest little squeaky whinny, almost sounded apologetic. Our mare, pretty and feminine, has a deep, butch, demanding whinny. Maybe they swapped at some point?

Oh I love those cute cat plays, I could watch it for ages x

I agree with you re the karaoke, awful awful night out. People who can't sing standing up to make fools of themselves. Not my cup of tea at all, I think I'd have to give it a miss too.

Hope you have a good day today

:rotfl::rotfl:The Captain has an average male whinny, nothing to be embarrassed about. The mare in the stable next door has a very deep butch whinny too. She always calls him when she hears his dainty footsteps and the sound ricochets around the yard! She is pure white and could stand in for a unicorn or pegasus any day, until she whinnies that is...
