OK, dressage has justified itself and may remain in the Olympics :D. united-kingdom-flag-waving-smile-animated.gif

Now construct a case for the uneven bars (actually, scrap that as we wona medal which is enough justification ;)). Come on folks, lets justify.......... gymnastic rings. What evolutionary edge does that give you?

An interesting day today, well, at least for me.

I've been mulling an idea for setting something up with a view to working for myself for a couple of weeks and haven't been sure how to progress it or even if it was a viable idea. Over the weekend I was talking to a couple of friends and mentioned this vague idea to them and we got talking. The result of which was that we spent the afternoon brainstorming it. One of them has the ability and knowledge to set it up, I have the ability to market it and the other friend has the operational knowledge to run it. It's still not clear how the money comes out the other end or if we could afford to set it up but we're going to pursue it a little further.

I've got all the notes here to sort out and type up. I get to do all of this as it was my idea! lucky me...what became apparent was that if it worked it would be huge, scarily so. I still need to clarify a few of the objectives and other bits, so lots of work for something that may not come to anything.

    .

:D sounds interesting :T I hope it does come to something as you deserve some good luck :)

I work for someone who has represented GB in senior dressage except at Olympics , it's about taking natural ability and making it precise. Not easy at all.
Wow the BOLD bit says enough for me, think i may also sign up for some lessons (unless you meant the horses have flat stomachs and it would do nothing for mine :confused :rotfl:)

    Oh dear major fail!!!

Dressage I didnt know that either, never did that with Baldrick, he was more of a cant be bothered to do anything so will just make minimum effort horse, unless there was food involved! He leart to strip branches whilst trotting/cantering, was pointless going out with the intention of losing calories because he managed to consume more out than he used ;)

Have you indeed? :D How lovely! You should have joined in ages ago, although I must admit some of the meanderings have taken us all down some very strange roads.

How did I move that debt? In the beginning it wasn't easy. I, like so many others started off with a lot of enthusiasm and cut back too much straight away. Paying off too much on various challenges and leaving myself with no money at the end of the month because I'd paid it off debt. Then had to use the credit card to buy food!! Crazy!

I've watched/read several diaries where folk start off thinking it is so simple and then hit a brick wall. It's not actually difficult, it just needs a new mind set and the mantra on the site do I need it? can I afford it? can I get it cheaper elsewhere?

    Top three tips?
The mantra above, it's amazing how much stuff I haven't bought because I don't need it, I just want it. A KitchenAid mixer for example, you have no idea how much I want one! I stroke them in shops when I walk past....I have space on my credit card for one....but I don't need one! When I clear the debt and that includes my overdraft I will have one as a reward and I will pay for it with money I have saved for it. It will be shiny and black...

Meal planning saves a fortune. I love food, just look at the waistline and used to food shop just because I could. The wastage was criminal....I still buy the bog offs and three for two, but only if it's stuff I will truly use, ie coffee, loo rolls, can store or freeze.

I cook everything from scratch, even my own bread! Tomato sauces for pasta, biscuits etc. I normally make double portions and have one portion as an evening meal and the other as lunch or freeze it for when I don't want to cook.

I'm always available for recipe ideas, I love making something from random ingredients so you can but challenge me for an idea!

Now you've made me write a long boring post and all my other friends and you will probably s*d off! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Seriously, hello and welcome! I will visit your diary and join in!

    Piq

Sorry I know I am a thousand days behind, but had to report that i loved your long boring post Z, I wonder why ? :rotfl:

How comes you have never told me you were available for recipe ideas, you let me feed my family green bread, weird things with tuna in and sit there all quietly ! :rotfl:

Oh and for the record, I want a black kitchen aid too. Just to look at and polish really, but I soooooooooo would love one. They were available on Achicha a few months ago now. The temptation was huuuuge, but I didn't.

Right I'm going again now. Byeeee x

The physique and strength of the men.....;) finally a man who could sweep me off my feet and actually carry me for more than three steps without dropping me :eek:actually, just lift me off the ground, walking around wouldn't be necessary. And there was me thinking you'd read that book...

The Captain is always on the look out for food too! I remember once galloping through a field with him happily trailing and chomping six foot of cow parsley that he had snatched from the hedgerow.
