    Dear Piq et al

Sorry I have not shown my face recently, but I have been keeping up with the news!

I have been volunteering at a local school to get some classroom experience following my redundancy (my plan is to become a teacher eventually) and have started my first module of my degree top up. Anyway, had great news this weekend, I passed my first assignment with a B - yay me - and ...... following an interview this week at school, I was informed that I had not got the job I had applied for, but was offered a classroom assistants job, I am so chuffed as this was what I ideally wanted. I start in the new school year. In the meantime a friend has offered me two weeks work babysitting his office, my plan was to have August off, but it was an offer I couldn't refuse.

We have had a lovely day here today, makes me feel so much better, the rain was starting to make me feel quite low - the horses have enjoyed it too, they had started to get webbed feet!

Hope you all have a great week.

    Noo

You sound a bit run-down Piq, which is hardly surprising with what you've been through recently. For the last few years I've taken a joint supplement and it really helped with my aches and pains. I stopped it a few months ago because they're stupidly expensive, but I'm aching again now. I think I need to include it as essential spending. Maybe you could try it and see if it helps.

Well done on shedding that pound, hope it doesn't find its way up North!

Looks like the pound did go north, Lucielle collected it...

I think I am a bit run down and a bit decrepit too! Some days I'm so tired I can hardly move and then other days I'm not too bad. I'll see if I can find some joint supplement this week and see if it makes a difference.

I did say I'd dropped the pound, why didn't you go round it rather than over it???
Well done on the loss :j how did the banana bread go?

The banana bread disappeared within ten minutes! It is lush when the sultanas are soaked in alcohol :o Funnily enough I had a banana smoothie for breakfast....

    Banana anyone?

Not a lot to report on today. Started it with a banana smoothie.... cleared most the housework then spent the day with the Captain.

As the rain held off we went out for a hack with his friend Dandy. Only problem with going out with another male horse is the Captain always wants to race. So he turns into a bit of a prancy tart ;) involving a lot of showing off and mane shaking. Once he had realised we were not taking part in a late run of the Derby he settled down and enjoyed nosing in peoples gardens and snorting at random sheep.

Dinner did not have a single banana in it and I'm thinking of having a nightcap before bed...

Thought of another thing to do with the bananas :) if you slice it open, with the skin on still, and stuff chocolate/masmallows in, then wrap it in tin foil and put either under the grill or in the oven for 10 minutes, then you get lovely warm chocolately bananas :D

Or, slice open and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Grill/bake again - the sugar goes lovely and crispy...

Hmm... any bananas going spare? ;)
