Only you could end up with 21 Free bananas !!
Bananae ice cream sounds yummy, or if the skins are already aplit, slice a banans , pop some choccy into the inside, bake on an open fire, or I suppose it would work under the grill, then have lovely gooey, very sickly chocclaty ( how on earth do you spell that ?!) bananas !!

Hi P,
Well done on the writing thingy
I love banana bread and I suppose banana icecream if its just bananas can still count as one of your 5 a day ? I always use that excuse when I buy a banana muffin from the canteen
We finally have had a couple of sunny days so managed to get girls out for a quick hack yesterday. Sick of the mud now though - its like winter - just warmer!
Take care hun x0 -
Sorry I haven't popped in, been a bit bleugrh and no good for company. Well done on the free bananas and the extra money that DWP seemed determined you should have. I know none of it is as good as a full time job that pays everything (and more) but it is welcome none the less I bet?
Hope the Captain and the Bear are treating you good. Oh, and you haven't mentioned the Pret guy since you started...- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Hi Piq, not been around much but caught up now - well done on the eb@y sales, have never ventured there, not sure I could cope
. Amazon doing fairly ok for me at the mo considering I haven't listed any new books for a while.
No banana glut ideas sorry but you seem to have plenty suggestions there already. I didn't even realise you could freeze bananas - maybe because you don't store them in the fridge it hadn't occured to me they could be frozen. I usually make a milkshake or b bread or muffins if they go off but its never as many as 21!
We have loads of slugs and snails here too and I'm out of an evening doing battle. Mr A loves to sit out in the rain [unlike the Bear] and he will cry to get out, sometimes sits under a chair for shelter but often will just be on the step on the decking impersonating a furry sponge. A couple of nights last week he got soaked, came in and made a bee line for my lap to share the damp . While I was stroking him I felt something slimy and yes it was a slug both times which had attached to his long fur - yeuch . I now have to give him the once over every night as I dont fancy slugs in the living room.
Hope you are having drier weather down south? I'll say quietly that it hasn't rained here for 24 hours - woohoo.
Well done on the writing/research piece and hope Pr@t is working out still - certainly sounds like its a work out in terms of all that lifting and stairs etc.0 -
I will be able to make everyone's suggestions of banana recipes as I was given another ten today as well as six mangoes and twelve bruised apples.
I am wondering if I have misunderstood my contract and am now being paid in bananas :rotfl:I am going to make mango chutney as I have saved some jam jars and I think I know someone who will eat the apples
I got another letter from DWP telling me they're paying the mystery £22 directly to my mortgage provider and then I received a mystery £10 refund from the endowment provider. I am perplexed...
All the eb*y parcels are posted. I have two items left, one with fours watchers and no bids, the other with zilch!
Pr*t asked if I would do more hours, but I'm not sure I want that many bananas. Unfortunately, they don't pay enough for me to be able to survive. If I do any more hours I will be signed off and subsequently lose my mortgage insurance. A shame really.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

If the Bear gets wet he wails and insists on sitting on me to ensure I am also wet and smell of wet cat.
A few years ago I had a ginger tom called Einstein. He wasn't particularly bright or affectionate. So one day when he sat on my lap I was horrified to find a huge pinkish coloured lump between his front legs. Even though it was a Sunday I took him to the emergency vets convinced he had some ghastly terminal disease. The vet looked at Einstein's lump and started to laugh. It wasn't a lump it was a slug  How embarrassed was I? The vet didn't charge me as he said I had made his day, he kindly offered me the slug to take home with me as a memento! I declined.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
