...and here I am! What a long day, my back aches big time, plenty of lifting and stretching stacking shelves and dishwashers!

    Where to start?

I made £55 on eb*y sales today :jall paid for, packed and ready to post tomorrow morning. I also got a letter from the DWP telling me I had been awarded £22 weekly towards my mortgage interest, I'm very confused as I didn't apply for it as I'm getting mortgage insurance. I'm putting the letter with the council tax benefit one, I don't understand that one either :o I'll wait and see what arrives in my bank account and take it from there.

The job centre was okay, a bit long winded as I finally claimed my travel costs for my fiasco interview. It took ages for my adviser to get them onto the system, in fact it took the whole hour so we only had time to fill in the form that tells them how long I work for each week. I hate forms so much, I seem to do a different one daily at the moment. I may write a book on the misery and mystery of forms...

My writing assignment that I sent in the other day was approved and I am now a fully fledged panel member - hurrah! They sent me another brief today, but it's for tomorrow and I'm working at Pr*t again so won't have time to do it. The brief is rubbish anyway, doesn't tell me what they want the article to say, just gives a title.

Now the interest bit - what do you do with 21 bananas?

My money saving habits went a bit mad today. I was stocking the banana shelf and noticed that a lot of them had split skins which means they're unacceptable for sale. I asked what happened to them and was told to throw them away!!! I asked if I could have a couple for banana cake and got given all 21 bananas!:rotfl:

It was quite a struggle on a crowded bus carrying a heavy bag with my job centre stuff and 21 bananas. What on earth am I going to do with them? I already have a huge box of cherries and rhubarb in the fridge. I'm working for the next three days and don't have time for baking....I can't throw them away, so I've frozen eight for future banana cakes, baked one for dinner, put one aside for breakfast that only leaves eleven unaccounted for :)

You could make healthy banana ice cream! Slice bananas and freeze the slices. Once frozen, shove loads in a blender (add some peanut butter if you like it!) and whizz until smooth. Yummy, healthy ice cream :D

  • well done on the ebay sales, i'm also on there again trying to sell some bits that didn't sell elsewhere! I really hate selling on ebay though - i'm a much better spender than seller :D;)

Gooseberry fool. Baked rat , no not mad, split skin on banana and sprinkle brown sugar, bake in oven the skin opens and it looks like legs of rat (small sisters named this) but absolutely delicious with scoop of ice cream! And clearly healthy!
Oh dribble sorry how yummy that all sounds and well done you for the MSE fruit! Shame the Captain doesn't munch bananas!

i've been out playing salt the slug tonight, they have had so many of my strawberrys i'm sick of it although it sheer luck i've got any strawberrys at all this year after the neighbour flattened them while replacing the fence.
oh & the ex is already out hunting his next victim :( his head wasn't right when we went out so no other girl is going to stand a chance either.

Send them my way, my 2 DGD love them so much they pounce on them as soon as they see them. DGD2 1st word was Nana, as in banana not Granny :)

She cried today when I refused to buy more in Asd^, mad because I bought a dozen yesterday. Then when I took her and DGD1 home after school she sat on my lap doing one for Granny, one for me, until the banana was gone and smiled the whole way through. After the couple of days I've had it was fantastic to laugh x

I reckon your best bet is banana ice-cream or freeze them until you've got time to cook with them x

This sounds wonderful. I've got some frozen cream in the freezer too, think I'll give it a go!

Other horses at the yard eat bananas, not the Captain though, he's very fussy, unless the food belongs to someone other than him :D

I think I may ask what happens to the bruised apples....

Don't like the sound of rat, but bananas sound great with brown sugar. This isn't helping my weight loss program!

Just as well he's the ex if he's out hunting the next victim! Have you tried salting the ex, well, if works on slugs...

I'm not sure about the money from the DWP, doesn't seem right, how do people fiddle the system? I can't even get it to work properly!
