Well here I am! Back again and starting over again...
I've had a bit of a self-indulgent day, I decided I deserved it. While I'm writing to you all I've got Mama Mia on the television, it always makes me smile, it's such a feel good movie.
Yesterday was pants and that's all there is to it. However, I have to move on.
How wonderful are you lot??? Thank you for being there for me.
I did the job centre and saw a really nice lady, we had quite a nice chat, she was appalled by the interview fiasco too. All done for another two weeks.
When I got home I called the agency, but my contact is away until next Monday, needless to say, nobody else knew anything about it. I asked to speak to someone else, was promised a call back and guess what? Didn't get one!
I dropped a thank you card in the post to the interviewer and said it was a shame we didn't get more time to talk about the role and wished her well.
Then I took the afternoon off. Took the Captain out for a stroll in the woods then gave him a bath and sat with him while he ate his dinner outside on the yard fence. I had a cup of tea and nearly had a bag of crisps, but they were snaffled straight away :rotfl: He loves prawn flavour crisps, I think it harks back to the days when he used to be a seahorse....
I made potato salad for tea with new potatoes, chopped spring onions, mayo, parmesan cheese and black pepper, had it with a green salad and very nice it was too. Not sure how it's going to help the weight loss programme though
Just discovered the Bear lying in the herb garden, and I mean lying in the herb garden. I have a sage scented cat and totally flat sageStill he smells better than he did the other week  Unfortunately, he's not talking to me at the moment as I trod on him earlier, he will keep sneaking up behind me and standing directly behind my feet. I don't know he's there until he squawks:D When I speak to him he turns his back on me :rotfl:

Caroline_a wrote: »hi Piq - oh what rubbish!! Anyway mine went well... then I got the phonecall today to say I'd come second. Great. Not sure I really wanted to hear that, but whatever the ins and outs of it, I'm still going to be out of work.
Onward and upward, eh?
Yes indeed, onward and upward, what a shame, second in this case is not quite right. Perhaps the other candidate will pull out, it's not unheard of.
We'll both carry on searching for work together then.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Just caught up with everything.
Even if you earn over the JSA limit and work more than 16 hours you can still sign on so you get NI credits (which go towards retirement pension).
Not sure if you managed to check the mortgage protection paperwork with regard to the rules of you being unemployed as you might be allowed to sign on for NI credits and still get mortgage protection.
Hello EE
The job centre was adamant that I couldn't work 16 hours without being signed off. That's why I'm working 15.5 a week for Pr*t.
I haven't checked the mortgage insurance, I'll call them tomorrow along with the council to find out why I'm still not getting council tax thingy [relief? benefit? ] I haven't had a lot of free time this week, but tomorrow's looking good for admin type stuff.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Sorry, Im a bit behind on your diary and the interview fiasco. What a total bloody nightmare, I am so angry on your behalf. A few days late, I know but bloody angry nonetheless.
Amazing how there is suddenly nobody available to speak to you at the Agency, isnt that always the way ? I think was really good of you to put the note in the post to the interviewer, you never know your luck, they may just decide to see you again and give you a proper interview.
Was there another contract possibly in the offing or have I got that wrong with all my dipping in and out of the diaries recently ?
Oh and Caroline, well done on coming second ! You obviously made a good impression, fingers crossed the next interview will be the one ! xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Morning Piq, hope you are feeling positive today! I wanted to tell you my news, because it shows we can all do it... I had a phonecall today from the people who interviewed me on Tuesday. Apparently, even though I didn't get the job, they liked me so much that they have created another role for me! Not quite as much money, but it's a brilliant opportunity, a sideways shift for me, so new experiences and opportunities.
And if I can do it (at nearly 58 ), so can you!!0 -
