If 'they' are going to pay go for it, its a skill, if they expect you to pay I'd say give it a miss & tell them to have their head seen to :) (its cira £1000!) not sure where they think the jobs are though, my mate did her hgv thinking she could find a job & there was nothing about what so ever

The thing is, not only can I not park or reverse very well, I also get lost if I travel outside of my home town. That's with a sat nav too:o I argue with my sat nav all the time. Many's the time it has announced 'you have reached your destination' [always sounding incredibly smug] and I'm quite clearly not where I'm supposed to be. Once I was actually going round a roundabout when it told me I was at my friend's house....

yay to the patchwork income but boo to the hgv driving suggestion, they really do drag the bottom of the ideas barrel don't they. You're blog should be about your experience with the job centre it's so laughable.

At the moment it's only a single patch and not even a fraction of the amount I need to live a very basic life on.

The Job Centre does seem to be taking on a life of its own, I am so out of my comfort zone there.

This has got a farce along the lines of Cyrano de Bergerac written all over it :rotfl:.

It gets better. I was at the yard this afternoon trying to find my horse under the mud cast model horse that was insisting he was the Captain; when the lady who I have known for years announced she was a manager at the Job Centre  Just as well I haven't done anything naughty, like earn some money....Now she wants me to feature her horse in my horse articles.....

I could be the Job Centre fairy, going round granting wishes to troubled employees...

I think there might be a delay before my writing job for the horse site happens. They've asked for my material and photos. However, I want to know how often they want material. The copyright of my work needs to remain in my name I may want to use the stories in my book. And they haven't confirmed if I'm the only contributor to the blog, my plan was that it was a continuing diary, rather than one-off stories.

I'm going to do my first day at the coffee shop tomorrow, white top and black skirt ironed - small confession here: I bought a new pair of soft flat black shoes, I don't have any without heels :o and know that I can't totter round in high heels like I used to, completely out of practice!

You could always try DooYoo. They pay per review on just about anything you can imagine and an awful lot of things you can't. You have to write a minimum of 150 words on your subject matter be it a chocolate bar or a restaurant or a horsey item. You're resricted to 5 per day and cash out is at £50 (or £20 in Amazon vouchers if you can't face writing anymore tripe). I cleared them out of £200 writing 5 a day before I ran out of things to write about.

Good luck today. I hope it goes well. I was a waitress one summer and I think I was the worst ever. One night a guy ordered an Irish coffee, as I was taking it to him I tripped and the coffee landed straight in his crotch. As if that wasn't bad enough, when I returned with his free replacement I tripped a second time and that coffee went straight in his lap too! :rotfl: It's funny now, but I was mortified at the time. I'm still surprised they didn't fire me.
