Yay, congrats on the job. You'll love it, be brilliant at it, and get staff discount on all that CAKE! x
Oh....I hadn't thought about the cake. I've just signed up to lose 21lb on the Mr Bloater threadand they're all made at the coffee shop
Dearest Happy, I don't think I'll get an award for waiting tables and making coffee! It'll be £50 a week, only another £400 or so to find
Did an £1 survey while still in bed this morning, too cold to get up early. I'm averaging £2 a day on surveys, very boring though.

Something to check and see if that is still the policy.
Thank you fallenwiccan for that info. I'm seeing my careers advisor today, he who tried to get me to take a job as a sheep carer and toilet attendant. I'll ask him, having said that, he hasn't known anything about anything else I've asked him, but it's worth a try. Also Eager Elephant knows a lot about such things I may bother her and ask the question.

Goodness sounds like its all happening round yours - good news re garden centre coffee shop
. Excellent re blogging - will that pay do you know?
Building up a patchwork income is the way to go I feel.....
Bear poo to the ex - is he bad news?Piq, hopefully this is the stepping stones to bigger and better things. Very interested which horsey blog/website it is, send me a pm if you feel ok with it.
LWhoo hoooo to potential employment. Hope Friday goes well. Am most chuffed that you'll be blogging for the horsie peeps. Heres hoping they send you lots of horsey stuff to review.
The blogging does pay, very little just under £5 a blog I think. I need to check whether I still retain copyright on the material, as some of it will be stuff I want to use in my book [many blogs have been snapped up by publishers if they're popular]
Even though the pay is low, it will be my first published work and may lead to greater [read more money] things in the future. It's great experience too. I have yet another form to fill in though:(
I hadn't thought of horsey things to review as well, I'll volunteer straight away. They have mentioned a photo-shoot for the Captain, his head will never fit in his stable...He will become a celebrity of sorts.
Lucielle - I'll pm you.
Teapot - The ex is bad news, very sexy, very young, but not good, I'm staying away.

good morning dear girl!
Result on the horsey blog and coffee shop! I wouldn't mention the coffee shop thing either to the stupid toliet attendant people. Here is another possible outlet for horsey writings. My brother writes for yahoo news as an individual contributor on a range of topics. Basically you give them 2-3 pages of a story. If they like it they post it and you get paid initially on the number of clicks you get on the first page (which is why you only give them a few pages a time). As you build up a readership yahoo will start asking you for stories and then they give you some notional amount up front like £20 and your page clicks.
As my brother is a bit of an eccentric and a raging, rabid athiest, I won't give you the link to his writing so it doesnt freak you out, however his wife's brother got him into it. He is a very successful write and his most popular series is called something like "what lives in my garden" here is a link to his stuff http://contributor.yahoo.com/user/215495/brad_sylvester.html
in any case I think he made Like $100,000 USD last year which is like £70K writing about his garden and other hobby type things.

Hey thanks for that NL. I shall look into it later today. I like the idea of being paid to be clicked [now why does that sound rude?] I've only got limited ideas for writing, I've neglected my blog, but I might have some material for it after my visit to the Job Centre! I watch everything with the view to writing about it later
Potentially, there's an avenue to explore in a larger article about Job Centre experiences.
I've joined you on the Mr Bloater thread so I'll see you there too....

Looking forward to the tales from the Job Centre today !
Thought New Leafs idea sounded really interesting, I might take a look, only because I'm just plain nosey , not because I stand any chance of making money !
And, yes totally agree with you, being paid to be clicked for some reason does sound very rude . Far too early for rudeness at 09.31, so I will leave my comments at that !!!

I thought this sounded amazing and well worth a try. So I signed up and penned a 425 work article on my hobby, sourced a royalty-free photo and uploaded it only to be told...Display-Only without any payment is the only option available for non-legal residents of the United States.

Hope everyone is ok, and Bear has recovered. I got turned down for yet another job today. Although in other news, OH survived his trip to the JobCentre, even if he did find out that they always tell people their appointment is 10 minutes earlier than it is actually booked for, because 'no one ever turns up on time'... (He was 5 minutes early)

Yes, I've just found this out too. Not a global company then! Shame, it did sound too good to be true!PiggyBankShaker wrote: »Hope everyone is ok, and Bear has recovered. I went to the Job Centre today too. I was nearly late as I was listening to some opera singers in the town centre, they were very good. I felt quite resentful that I had to leave to go to the Job Centre.
I saw my adviser and asked about how much work you could get paid for before losing jsa - £5! But you can work up to 16 hours a week, for £5! It must be me misunderstanding or something. I need to get some more work and apply for tax credits I think and forget about signing on.
Anyway, bizarre experience of the Job Centre today. My adviser has asked me to write his online dating profile....

Hope he's not going to pay you more than £5.
Go on then, have a practice.
