Morning, the job centre antics what a farce
Hope the coffee shop goes well, stay away from the cake, bring it back for us, can I put in an order for lemon cake please
I survived an eight hour day with a fifteen minute break:eek: It's going to take a bit of getting used to. I found it much harder work than working down at the yard. I spent the day clearing tables and unstacking and re_stacking the dishwashers. Everything aches, hips, feet, shoulders...
But surprisingly, as I was just on trial, I got paid £47. I will be working a four hour shift tomorrow and Sunday and was asked if I would do another couple of shifts in the week. To which I've said yes. And I got a free lunch :TAnd I didn't eat any cake, not easy when they're cooking it on the premises :T
It is hard work though, but I'll get used to it. Thankfully, I've got some left over chilli in the fridge which is a microwave job. I've already washed out my top and tights so not too much to do this evening other than veg in front of the television and maybe sneak a glass of wine - I do deserve it ....

One night a guy ordered an Irish coffee, as I was taking it to him I tripped and the coffee landed straight in his crotch. As if that wasn't bad enough, when I returned with his free replacement I tripped a second time and that coffee went straight in his lap too! :rotfl: It's funny now, but I was mortified at the time. I'm still surprised they didn't fire me.
Thankfully, I didn't do anything so rash. I was delivering lunches to the tables and was worried I'd forget where I was going! The worst thing I did was smash my leg on the dishwasher door, nice cut and bruise there, just in time for summer skirts!

Hi Piq
I've just made my way over here and am steadily reading your diary. I actually have tears in my eyes having just read your horse, the underpants and bird of prey story. It took me ages to read, because I was laughing so much I couldn't see. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I used to go to Mr T to buy my books, now I go to MSE DFDs instead. :money:
Although of course, I will buy your book when its published.
BFN going back a few months to read some more.
Will see you soon

Oh Piq,
I'm so sorry I missed your first day and didn't wish you luck, so will wish you luck for Sunday instead! Can't believe you survived 8 hours And didn't eat cake! Are you superhuman?
Tales from the Job Centre make me giggle, I just can't imagine you as an HGV Driver , maybe you should take the course anyway, if only to keep us entertained ! :rotfl:
Granny I agree, I barely read my books these days, Gargrave and Piqs blog have been reading material of choice of late!
Piq hope you enjoyed that very much needed glass of vino, oh and I'm so glad I have found another sat nav hater! I shout at mine all the time, it never says please when it asks me to turn right and I get so angry. All I ask for are some simple manners! This gets spookier and spookier. I love shouting at my Sat Nav and often tell it to "stop nagging, I heard you the first time" or "no, I don't want to turn around when possible. I'm going this way, so deal with it"
At least I'm better with mine than my mum, (who is 72 bless), is with hers. After 2 years of using a sat nav, she told me she didn't know how I found my way to places on my own using the Sat nav as she finds it really difficult to drive and read at the same time. She didn't realise that it talked as well and had been trying to use it as a moving map. It makes me giggle when I think about the surprise on her face when I turned the sound on for her.
Anyway, still finding places to drop these off for you
and one for you too Piq
Hope your first day went well and that you have another good day on Sunday.
