So poor I can't even pay attention

Maty I am trying so hard to get work, it dominates my days and nights. I spent between 2 and 4 this morning worrying. At six I re-wrote my CV and re-posted it to varying job boards. I was reading several articles suggesting that putting freelance means unemployed to recruiters and means instant bin job. So I've done a paragraph concentrating on where I have done unpaid work [haven't mentioned the unpaid bit] and improved client return on investment. I don't know if it will work, only time will tell.
Anyone out there want me to write a marketing piece for them in return for a company name on my cv?
Piq
If the work you did for us is any help you're more than welcome.

Hello *waves*
I have just read your diary & just wanted to pop by & say well done you piq on all your endeavours, things have certainly been thrown at you but you are battling through, just remember there are plenty here who want to help you through so never struggle at anything on your own.
Unfortunately I don't bring any pets to the thread, I would dearly love a dog of my own but working puts paid to that so I am part of my parents aged English Setters 'herd'. I don't even have a man pet at the moment (just a housemate male pet who is in training, dishwasher emptying check, rinsing out half finished cups of tea to stop them staining not so much), I tried to find one recently, located a lovely example but it turned out to be a homing man pet who returned from whence he came but tried very hard to hang on to me as a (pocket) agony aunt which didn't appeal much.
Also if you did bring out a book full of Captain stories I would most certainly buy it, I could see it being a very popular bed time story book for my little cousin who is 6 & loves horses. I would also love it being an avid horsey person albeit one who hasn't ridden in a couple of years due to having nothing to ride & other preocupations. I used to live on the saddle club series as a teenager, I hope you don't mind me suggesting but perhaps you might consider angling your tales as a selection of short stories of the escapades that Captain and his possy, including his dear beloved shetland, get up to. There really don't seem to be many good short story books around anymore that are at the kind of level where the child can read it back, all those my little cousin has seem very childish or not short. Your anicdotes that you have already posted would certainly make up a sizeable percentage of such a book without much tweaking and i'm sure you could easily come up with a few tales for the other characters?
Anyway apologies for my rambling.
Keep it up! My fingers are crossed for you for part time jobs and lots of positive writing opportunities, I will certainly be popping by watching for updates- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

Mrs B I thought it was a coded message. I was taking the missing/different words and seeing what the message really said.

Thank you, that is most appreciated.
Now I've read some of these articles I realise that, yes, you have to be honest on your cv, but it's the way you write the honesty - ridiculous! Agencies have taken it upon themselves to say that they are not going to put anyone forward for jobs if the person concerned is out of work or not employed by a company.

Hello trix-a-belle:wave:
Thank you for your kind words. In a way, and I know it's ridiculous, don't all shout at me at once:o I feel like I'm letting you all down by not being able to report I've got a job!
A trainee man pet, interesting. I'm not doing so well with mine at the moment. We had another evening of both of his dd, texting and phoning  They were staying at his as there is some family do they're all going to [I made excuseshate other peoples family affairs
] The daughters were arguing over which room each of them were sleeping in  Not bad for women in their thirties. However, he's just as bad as he answers the texts. I'm afraid I told him to either turn the phone off or leave as it was spoiling our evening and I had spent a couple of hours preparing a meal for him and it was just plain rude to be using his phone and his girls needed to grow up! He turned the phone off, but he was fretting, but selfishly I ignored it
I feel that at the moment the Captain is writing the second volume of his memoirs as he is particularly 'full of it'. Yesterday he was as gentle as a lamb for a disabled lady who had never been on a horse before but really wanted to try. The Captain stood like a rock as four of us got her on, he didn't twitch. Then he carefully walked to the school, you could see him looking where he was putting his feet. She rode him for 15 minutes, she had a grin from ear to ear. I was so proud of him. After we all helped her off and back into her wheelchair I got on him and he bucked and bounced around the school like a rodeo horse. Playtime with mum:eek:

My bedding will be on the line shortly. Actually, I'll have to prise myself out of the wretched thing and its sooooo lovely being in here with the lappy and a cuppa. Ds1 has just poked his nose in and has decided to wash his car, ahhhh those were the days of the first car and keeping it clean. Now I really CBA as long as I can see out the wind screen.

Piq
No need to acknowledge us all just know that there are plenty reading rooting for you, don't feel bad about not having a job yet your expertise are clearly very specialist and you are trying which is the main thing! In the mean time keep writing with the aim of being published I want your name on the front cover of a book full of Captain stories to read
your man pet's daughters are unbelievable!! i'm 27 and would never think of being so petty! (i'm sure I could be if I wanted to but that is just awful). don't blame you telling him to leave them or get off & deal with it you don't need to take on two 30's going on 3 as someone said earlier, although perhaps if you met them & explained you don't want to be a replacement mother to them but if they are going to act like that then maybe they need you too..:idea:
He needs to learn selective deafness again, i'm sure he's had it previously when they were growing up, my dad certainly did & selective blindness ("where is it?" right in front of you!)
Yes housemate male pet has been in the scheme for 4.5 years now with 2 years of residential training, hes in the process of being gradually let out to a potential owner now
I have know so many horses like that, I knew a smalll skewbald called stroller who was absolutely ancient, in RDA (riding for the disabled) he was a lamb as careful as anything he could have walked on eggshells, with the new learner kids again meek and mile, put an able bodied person who was confident on him & you could hardly stop he'd be barrelling round the indoor school- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted
