i was just lurking again having just bathed the dog, after her encounter with a hedgehog, i feel very very itchy now, but i had to post after that i felt naughty :rotfl:
glad you and captain are ok,
Aha!! caught you! Where have you been? Stop lurking and join in, you're a long time friend. I don't mind that you smell of wet dog :rotfl:
Was the encounter with the hedgehog an accident? Or did the young hound go looking for trouble?

That van driver was a t*sser and a half  Glad you are both safe though
You need to get yourself back out there sooner rather than later though, before your confidence really does desert you.
Maty I am trying so hard to get work, it dominates my days and nights. I spent between 2 and 4 this morning worrying. At six I re-wrote my CV and re-posted it to varying job boards. I was reading several articles suggesting that putting freelance means unemployed to recruiters and means instant bin job. So I've done a paragraph concentrating on where I have done unpaid work [haven't mentioned the unpaid bit] and improved client return on investment. I don't know if it will work, only time will tell.
Anyone out there want me to write a marketing piece for them in return for a company name on my cv?

How are you this morning Piq, did the food turn out ok ?
The food turned out very well, as did the photos. I can't post to the site yet, but hope to be up and running tomorrow. Tonight I'm making Potato Leek Marscapone & Cheese Pie using up the left over pastry from yesterday. It will be served with Pinot Grigio [:D] and tomato and chilli flat bread. All to be photoed and written up! Perhaps I'll become the next Nigel Slater or Nigella :rotfl:A sort of buxom wench with a beard....

It is? I didn't know that! But there again, there's so much I'm learning at the moment!
I wish I got paid for writing on here, I'd be solvent in no time.
How rude, sorry....hello and welcome!

Sorry Piq, was not meant to be rude. Forgot to put a smiley to make it appear joking....May be its my age but I hope I have not broken the house rules

In the abscense of Piq this evening (No doubt collapsed on the sofa, pie in one hand and Pinot in the other! ) I'm sure she won't mind me reassuring you, that there dont appear to be any house rules on this diary so rest assured, it is very very unlikely that you have broken any rules whatsoever !
Blogrum, I'm loving it !
Lovely to see you x
Piq, just think how much money you would have made if you were writing and actually being paid per word !! Actually with the way I ramble , I may actually earn more than you !!! :rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Have read this thread on and off over the last 24 hours and have been thouroghly entertained by it.
You have a wonderful way with words and I'm sure that once you get that 1st break at writing that you'll be very successful.
I can most certainly empathise with you regarding the Job Centre. The clientele leave a lot to be desired and can be quite a scary bunch.Luckily,I do not have much contact with my advisor as I'm on the sick.Hopefully, you'll manage to get some work soon. It's heart breaking seeing how much effort you put in to finding a job without getting the return you deserve.
I am really scared that when I try to go back to work having had 2 years off due to cancer and it's ensuing treatments and side effects that I'll not be able to get any work.It doesn't help that I've been self employed for 20 years so don't even have references.I had no qualifications but have just taken and passed my level 2 ECDL and am taking Maths and English too.
Regarding your JSA and mortgage insurance,it does not seem correct that your JSA will stop when that pays out.If you didn't have a mortgage you'd be applying for housing benefit to pay the rent. The JSA is money to live on.I really do think that you need to discuss this with the benefits people or the CAB/WELFARE RIGHTS....if it really is the case that your money stops then that's another kick in the teeth for people that try to protect themselves against lifes' misfortunes.
I'm really loving the stories about Captain. He sounds adorable.I don't like the white van man though..idiot that he is.
I bring Tess a rather overweight 6 year old Rottie to the animal fold. She is rather cheeky and will try and steal the horses food and would very happily roll in the muck heap along with Captain. She loves all children and animals but doesn't like chavs with hoodies.
I've subscribed so that I can follow your escapades..hope that is ok0 -

Eek! It was me being rude not you! I'd dived straight in to my response to your message without saying hello! Here is a belated hello and wave...
Pinot [as my stunt double on this occasion, that will be a thrill for her :rotfl:] is quite right, no house rules whatsoever! Far too much trouble to put rules together
Incidentally, I had the pie on a plate, not in my hand! I'm working on being posh...
