Just read about your hotmail account - this happened to my mum early last week. I think she changed her password. Anyway, I was on BBC news website and there was something mentioned there about hotmail. Don't think it's there now but you may still be able to find the article.

Actually, you may not be aware, but there's a rule about re-lurking. Once you've de-lurked you're not allowed to re-lurk!
Hello dangers :hello:It does seem odd that something as simple as changing your password can fix things, doesn't it?

That van driver was a t*sser and a half  Glad you are both safe though

Hi Piq,
What a horrible van driver, I hope bad things happen to him. Poor Captain (and you) I hope you are both okay.
I have been regaling in OH with your stories about the horrors of the job centre. He lost his job yesterday and has his first appointment next Friday (even though he said in advance that it was the one day he really couldn't do...)
We're pulling our belts very tight now which means my horse riding lessons must go by the wayside for the time being. I would welcome any suggestions how I could get riding time cheaply. I would imagine with the economy the way it is there are lots of people struggling with the upkeep of their horses and would welcome a little extra financial help in exchange for horsey time. But maybe I am wrong. What are your thoughts on this?- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Definitely - you should put up a notice in your local agri shop / tack shop. I have a lady who helps us with ours although we take no financial help from her what she gives in her time, reliability and friendliness is invaluable. We met her through a previous livery yard and she has been part of our horsey lives for nearly 3 years now.I know if I go away for a day or a week my horses will be looked after exactly how I want them to. She does spoil them and brings treats and even replaced a set of reins on one of the bridles although we did offer the money for them - she refused.
I hope your OH manages to find some work soon.0 -
Quick message to PiggyBank Shaker, I cant offer any horsey advice, but wanted to wish you OH luck in finding another job soon.x

Piq - even without the registration number you should report it, if you could provide even a small amount of detail on the driver, if he does this again to a child the consequences could be fatal. I know they may not do anything, but if it is on file and then something happens in the future, it is more evidence!
Piggbankshaker ask at the riding school sometimes you can work for rides (I used to years ago but perhaps this is not allowed now) but they may know of people who want a bit of a hand with the liveries on the yard. Also look out in your local free paper, ask at the feed merchants and so on about people who maybe want a few hours riding per week in return for say shoeing the horse. Just be sure to get the agreement in writing!Start info Dec11

Hi Piggybankshaker
Sorry to hear about your OH losing his job, it's a scary time. Hopefully, he'll get a job really quickly.
I echo LAM and missrir about getting riding time cheaply, you normally have to work for it. I work for my lessons, mucking out, grooming, sweeping etc.
Up until recently [the exact moment I started to look for odd jobs] there were ads on the pinboard of the village Post Office looking for people to help at local yards, often including exercising horses for cash in hand. Worth a look. If you live near me, you can come and ride the Captain.
Good luck!
