Hiya Igamogam :hello:I would have liked to do something unpleasant to the van driver, but I had my hands full of frightened horse. Coffee was all that was available
I was frightened too, you've had horses Lucielle, you know how easily they scare, except, normally the Captain doesn't. No horse is truly bombproof. He's a bit high spirited at the moment, young grass and that makes them a little more skittish.
Thank goodness you weren't there PG, how would I have coped with your bad back too! Bl**dy van driver...
Hello jemcart :j I give the Captain a supplement for his joints, at the moment he is still very supple! Can and did turn on the spot  Seriously, he's not bad for a 26 year old, he still runs round like a youngster.

Hi Piq - try changing your email account password - it might work!
I had something similar once with an email account, changed the password and it was fine.

Hiya, Piquant,
I've just discovered your thread and have read the first 9 pages but my eyes hurt now so will save the rest for later.
I'm really enjoying it and can genuinely say you have a really amusing and readable style of writing so I think you are going down the right path with your ambition to write for a living although you may need to supplement with more mundane ways of making a living in between.
I too have been made redundant in the past and know how you feel but the nausea of going to the job centre just made me more determined to get out of their clutches as soon as possible. (I'm not up to date on your job hunt yet so not sure of your exact situation at the moment).
I have subscribed and will post from time to time when I think I might have something worth contributing. Best wishes:)0 -

Really? I think I saw this on a mac support forum but it was phrased in geekness and acronyms but essentially said the same as you. I'm going to change my password now, of course, tomorrow morning I won't remember it!

Hello dearest Lemon Tree :hello:How are you settling into your new home? I will pop over to your diary and find out.
Unfortunately, you get quite a few people who don't like horses on the road and won't slow down and that's on the tiny country roads with lots of bends. The sort of roads you wouldn't speed down if you had one iota of senseIt the idiots with the blaring horns that are asking to cause an accident. We'd have been fine if it wasn't for the herd of deer trying to eat the Captain...

Hi Kezia and welcome to the zoo
You'll go cross-eyed if you read it all, it's just me waffling and telling stories. Not much education at all I'm afraid!
Jump in, no need to wait, if we all waited until we had something sensible to say, we'd still be on the first page. Just throw yourself in and enjoy yourself. I'm lucky in that some wonderful people have popped in to my diary.
I hate being redundant, I don't deal with it very well at all. Ostrich syndrome. Thank you for your kind words about my writing, not that I've done any today, plenty of research on computer viruses, but they're not something I can see me including in a book!

Hi Piq,
Sorry to hear about poor Captain and yourself trying to fight off horse eating deer and stupid van drivers. Hope you've recovered.
I recently had an email virus too and it seems it only took a password change to fix it. No-one else has complained to me so I'm guessing it worked
No Alvin the goldfish stories to tell really apart from DD who keeps climbing on a chair to look in his tank and says "hawo Awvin" and throwing the odd bit of lego in for him to play with. We have however been left two dead field mice on our garden path about a week apart. My thought is a local puss is leaving us presents, DH thinks they have drowned in the rain.

Sorry to hear about your near miss with the van. At least you're both OK - it could have been a lot worse.
Bummer about the virus too. It hasn't been the best of days for you. I think tomorrow will be especially good to make up for it. Karma and all that x
Just a quick edit - speaking of karma, it occured to me that as soon as he was out of your sight, the van driver probably got sucked down by the crocodiles into one of those dangerous puddles where he was bitten by the pirhanas just before the deer stampeded across his head. Serves him right too.LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

I've changed my password [reminder Piq:101 ending] Let's see if it's done the trick. Mind you, I'm going to be a bit miffed if it has worked after I spent $40 on virus protection

That is so cute, DD, not the dead mice. I don't think the Bear has been your way....he had a couple yesterday

It could have been worse, that'll be the bit that gives me nightmares tonight.

Love the karma idea Mrs H. I hope the piranhas get him in the man bits, before the deer stamp on his head! :rotfl:
