    One questions guys. I didnt receive my cash back claim form with the phone. Nor does the contract say that it is a cashback claim contract. Any ideas or previous experience on this one? May be some advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Ts and Cs say that the cashback form will be emailed to you within 30days of connection.

    Is there restriction from either phones 4u or O2 on getting rid of the phone (ebay) that came with this contract and then using my existing handset?

    I'm pretty sure that O2 would never know which handset you were using with the sim. I intend to sell the handset that came with the contract as I dont like it and my current handset is unlocked and works just fine.

    Hi

    One of the cashback conditions (below) seems a bit strange. How can a handset be disconnected from the network? And, how would this condition affect me if I sold on the phone that was supplied with the contract?

    1.2 You will not qualify for our Chequeback offer if:

    1.2.1 you disconnect your handset (for whatever reason) from the network you were connected to at the time you purchased your qualifying contract handset, before making your application to redeem your Chequeback;

    This just seems to mean if you cancel your contract (ie disconnect your handset) = no cash back ...which is fair in my opinion :rolleyes:

    I used to work at phones 4 u and had to deal with a lot of unhappy customers who missed out on their claims.

    The only real problem with the offer is sometimes Phones 4 U 'don't recieve the chequeback form' so best thing to do is after posting off your redemption form is to call them 1 week later to make sure they have recieved it. Take the name of the person you spoke to and note the time. Then get a new form sent out to you if the original was 'lost in the post' and repost it. Because the recieving address is a post box that is only checked every couple of days, you want to be very careful in terms of time scales.

    We will be sending the Feb and July bills but be careful as the instuctions on the cashback form state

    "2.1.2. a copy of your first and most recent network airtime bill"

    but the website instructions states

    "The 6th month bill must be original. Please keep a photocopy of the bill for your records, as we cannot return the original bill"

    Please be careful not to loose your cashback due to the conflicting instructions!

    My advice to anyone using cashback deals is to always send the original bill (and keep a copy for yourself) unless you see explicit information about photocopies being acceptable.

    To my mind, only Carphone Warehouse owned companies seem to explicitly state that they allow photocopies. There are one or two exceptions but, by and large, they are all with 3 contracts only due to the new guidelines that 3 put in place for all its dealers involved with offering cashback. Even so, many retailers can't be bothered to comply with 3's new terms.
